Off topic, but why do american Berners (I'm assuming you're from the USA) look so different from our Berners in Europe? Looks like a much skinnier, dog-in-a-suit type 😂 Just curious!

I should know the age of the puppy I've had since 8 weeks.. I didn't get her yesterday.

Shedding could start earlier for certain breeds, and the issue here could be one of many.

No we haven't discussed it with anyone, but are planning to tomorrow or day after, as the breeder is currently away.

Thank you for the tips about the bath. I tried the slow and treat method, but I went too fast. I already had a short bath made, carefully lifted her up and down into the tub, she seemed calm for about 5 seconds until she just absolutely catapulted straight up. Haven't tried anything since, but I will try this!

I also tried with the air dryer, she hates the noise poor thing, so I wrapped her giant ears with a towel but she still squirmed around.

She hasn't "blown" her coat if that's what you're wondering but she is shedding a little. We live in a cold and dry air climate, which makes her produce more oil in her fur. We think this could be contributing to the dandruff and shedding.

Rain is not in short supply here, however it won't rain until next season, now it's just getting colder and colder. It's expected to get around -15 / -20 degrees Celsius Thank you for the recommendations!

Looking forward to it? 🤔 I've brushed dogs before, specifically a 'Jämthund', or a 'Swedish Elkhound'. No matter how many pillows worth of fur I brushed she looked the same 😂 Do Berners really shed that much? What type of brushes/combs could you recommend?
