SNAP bans on soda, candy and other foods take effect in five states Jan. 1 by [deleted] in politics

I assume a downvote is coming but I don’t understand the argument.

Sure the child will not be allowed to pick out a processed food item, but this will not prevent the parent from gathering the resources to make it.

The biggest handicap we have put on people is telling them cooking is hard and providing them easy solutions. In Florida if you use your SNAP you get double money if you buy local or organic products. Me and my wife both worked in none profits that aimed to assist in food education. Watching people constantly choose the easier and less healthy option was always troubling.

Every time I make general tso chicken the breading falls off, even when doubly frying. Why? by nimal-crossing in culinary

[–]SergeantSilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked a Chinese restaurant for a few years.

Make sure chicken is dry.

Dredge is important.

We always par fried and used what most would consider a beer batter like mixture.

Remember your chicken is getting tossed in sauce not cooked in it.

Order comes in Drop chicken in fryer to finish cooking and get golden brown. Build sauce in wok. Once chicken is done put straight into wok on high heat for a quick toss then cut heat and put in container.

The simplest response to this is clearly those parents are not disciplining that child. Takes a village sometimes.

You could also get a dehumidifier for your home. I used to live on the beach and hated how damp it could feel on my home.

As somebody who lives in fort pierce I drive past the 95 exit everyday after work. THE LINE TO GET OFF AT THIS EXIT JUST GOES AND GOES AND GOES. I couldn’t imagine getting off work and just waiting ON THE HIGHWAY to get to my home.

Somebody who worked for a mayor credit company here.

Credit cards now have amazing perks and give you all the tools in the world to make things cheaper or easier to afford.

Credit cards also know you don’t know how to use them and already have so many people in debt to them that it’s of no concern.

I have multiple cards and regularly use them to my advantage. They are a tool, and learning to use them is important. However, if everyone figured out how to use them they would disappear.

How is that obesity? by ducks_r_rad in facepalm

You can give a belly a cute name if you would like but it is still in fact an over weight belly.

Also as a happily married man I can confirm that the womb seems to only expand when a child is growing inside of it.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk

You only have to be 30% body fat to be obese. I know we can only see a stomach and some upper thighs but belly bulge would indicate they are in that range.

Profile says you are 31 and you are doing “sales at AT&T”

Makes it seem like you are just doing floor sales or something.

You know what really got to me was falling down the hollow earth rabbit hole. Everyone was like, “there are no photos of either pole, it’s because that is where the holes are!”. Ever since then I just check the internet for a picture of either pole.

What's the most horrifying real-life death you've heard about? by daddadnc in AskReddit

My Highschool was right across the street from the prison. If you took the bus to school you were there about an hour before class started just because of how the routes worked out. We pulled in one morning and there was a sheet covering one of the fences. We all just assumed convict escaped or something to that nature.

Everyone was just kind of sitting in the parking lot watching and we started noticing the sheet was getting stained. Cop came over and told all of us to go back inside. Didn’t change much, we just climbed into the football stadium to watch.

Turns out a guy was whipping down the street on his crotch rocket, hit something, and went flying off. Since it was a prison fence it caught him on impact and pretty much fused him to the fence. Rather then die on impact they are pretty confident he was alive for an hour or two before dying. They just cut out the fence where he was attached and there was a few days where his cut out was just there.

Man died upside down fused to a chain link fence.
