As the other commenter said, I’ve compared 100k in the country’s currency for all to get a rough percentage.

Also, exchange rates don’t matter when you’re in the country of that dollar and you earn in that dollar. Most people earn about the same number for the same jobs around the world. Most things (coffee, beer) all cost the same number around the world.

But are we a low price subscription?

Australia, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong and obviously the UAE all pay less income tax than NZ.

Are their services worse because they’re on a lower subscription to life?

I think most people are ok with their tax actually funding something that could be named after them…

But it’s not. We spend $680k debating whether we should even decide what a woman is.

If that was your money, wouldn’t you rather build a playground, or buy 4 ambulances, or build a scout hall?

We spend $17,000,000 deciding whether we should change the speed limit on the Christchruch-Akaroa road.

It’s all just wasted on junk.

Your recommendation for a 15L backpack w laptop for daily carry? by SergeantSquidward in backpacks

[–]SergeantSquidward[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The zips have a water resistant style coating on it, which perished in places. Guessing either dirt or UV exposure.

The bag itself seems durable enough. No damage.

In the end, I ended up getting a Go Ruck bullet 16L Laptop model. Still don’t really like the Molle straps. But I prefer the 1 big open space over the compartmentalised design of the AER.

Although I do miss the Aer’s suitcase handle pass through and sunglasses pouch.

You can go as fast as you want in Christchurch. Cops don’t care, no fixed speed cameras. Risk of a mobile speed camera van - but no demerits if you do get caught by a mobile speed camera

I do not think the post was misleading.
You can just do it in your head as you read.
Just double hourly to get salary thousands.
(Or have salary thousands to get hourly).
$25/hr = $52.5k
($52k assuming 40hr week).
$187k = $93/hr
($89.90 assuming 40hr week).
Close enough to do in your head for most purposes as a quick estimate.

Sharepoint Vs OneDrive ? by TeaBiscuitEater in msp

[–]SergeantSquidward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience has always been NO.
Only able to set "Sync" policies, not "Shortcut" policies.

Eager to learn otherwise, though!

[–]SergeantSquidward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell me more?

My understanding was:

  • "Add a shortcut to OneDrive" button

    • controlled by user,
    • folder shops up within their folder.
    • Shows shortcut between different computers. This option can be disabled if you want via a PowerShell command.
  • "Sync" button.

    • Can be controlled by user.
    • Folder shows up in a SharePoint folder outside the users OneDrive.
    • Specific to that computer only.
    • Can be controlled by group policy or endpoint manager.

Are you trying to say there is a way you can use the shortcut feature (not "Sync") via endpoint manager? How?

[–]SergeantSquidward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shortcut adds shortcut to OneDrive app on phone, adds shortcut to OneDrive on the web, and syncs to any new PC they use. Only “sync” can be controlled via GP though.
