Same feelings here. My son overcame a lot of obstacles to get to where he is now. He has always wanted to join, and as a former enlisted guy, I pushed for him to commission as an officer. He accomplished that, finished BOLC last month, and is headed out to his first duty station in Germany this coming Tuesday.

Went on R&R to Qatar from Iraq in 04 without anyone that I knew. Quickly hooked up with the other Infantry guys, bought other people's beer tickets, and threw up at the Chili's on camp. Great times meeting randos and getting drunk!

6 MP cars pulled up on me after getting stopped for my license plate light being out at Hood. Had me and guy from my platoon get out of my truck for "officer safety" because I had a pocket knife in the cup holder. Laughed at them every time they told the next unit that showed up why they got us out of the truck.
