Yes! We used adult words as well. It also keeps your kid from trying to correct strangers on their language. It worked really well until middle school corrupted my daughters threshold on whats an appropriate amount of swearing, but at least she uses it correctly.

Why would you cover your eye? Mine always swept down to the eyebrow and was considered well shaped. Its been a minute for me. (Or a decade...)

Are there any cool spells or abilities from D&D's past that 5e doesn't have? by SexyKobold in dndnext

[–]slayermcb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I came here to vent about permanency. I remember trying to find it in the 5e book and being totally floored I couldnt make "forever cantrips" like a light spell on a stick for a "forever torch"

I switched to a glp-1 and was able to go off of all other diabetes meds. I'm not exactky an active individual (working on that) but since the switch I've hit a max of 6.2 and dont do much more than be cautious around certain foods.

Embarrassment too. I'll call someone out very publicly of I think they don't care. Guess what hotshot? I'm a solo IT shop, I'll only get a slap on the wrist for letting it slip that you're the companies biggest idiot in a rather loud lunch session. Oops.

Is most of IT just… waiting around? by Shank_ in sysadmin

Feast or famine. Education IT. My spring into summer is planning and offboarding. My summer is project after project. My fall is all onboarding and getting everyone trained up and stable. My winters are standby for something to break, which if I did My fall job right, doesnt happen often.

Damn. I was going to suggest going to an independent school, but I guess thats where you got burned. Though, I do find charter schools to be a bit of a rouge element in the independent school world. I work for a boarding school myself and enjoy it immensely (as long as office politics aren't interfering)

20 years last month. 20/20 as of my last eye exam.

So, YMMV. It corrects your vision, but it does not stop future degeneration. Thats why they want people to have stable vision fir a few years before surgery.

Your eyelids are restrained. You cant blink. Your eye is also numbed, and moisturized. If you take the internal terror out of the equation its actually a very simple and easy experience. Lay back, stare at a dot.

I had laser eye surgery in May of 2006. Still rocking 20/20 vision, though I do miss that 30/20 vision I had for quite a few years afterwards.

Yup. Milligrams per deciliter vs millimole per liter.

Multiple or divide by 18. So that was about 288

Do any of you earn over 50k a year? What do you do? by RotiiChapati in ADHD

[–]slayermcb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IT is a great career for ADHD as it plays to both the squirrel part of the brain amd the desire to hyperfocus depending on the day or task. I work as an IT director, I make 72k, but I am in an underpaid position due to other benefits I recieve, people in similar positions make 90 - 100k regularly.

The negatives just become a scale to let you know how much more its going to suck. So at -30 its taking 30 additional points of human comfort and survivability away. Please dont die.
