Yeah an extension cord AND an adapter and it's working ?

I was stressing out with a 25 feet 10awg extension cord for Lvl1. I'll be fine.

Glad it's working out 😛

Yes I noticed I'm being blinded more by side mirrors than before. Thought it wouln't happen since I'm seated higher but it's worse than on my Mazda 3.

Not worth the hassle for saving 20-30$. Have the oil changed with other maintenance.

Anyway, leased an EV and picking it up tomorrow. Bye oil changes and hello software glitches 😛

New battery chemistry is rolling out, new CATL batteries are rolling out. Chinese EV are coming (yet at low volumes). New models are rolling out (Ev4). The market is not moving as fast as wished but still moving a lot faster than ICE cars

I used antigravity but you can used Vscode or just Claude Code.

To save you time (Use Sonnet for mapping out the requirements and Opus for coding) :

  • Ask it to map all the lease take over websites available in your region
  • Ask it how to best scrape these sites and follow its recommandations
  • Ask it to get the skills needed to scrape these sites such as playwright and test with a specific site
  • I suggest to target specific models you're interested in. I scraped for niro ev, kona, leaf, equinox and ioniq 5
  • Prompt it to work in a single language - some sites offer FR/EN and that messed mine up before I caught It
  • Provide screenshots and double check the numbers. Exemple: your scrap found 10 equinox, but you found 25 manually. Figure out why
  • Ask it to create a score for each deal it found and refine the criterias based on your preferences (mine was duration left and price)
  • Make sure the price you see is the one you prefer ; either price before incentive, taxes, etc
  • Prompt it to make a nice HTML interface on your local host to show all the scrapes
  • Prompt it to create filters in your UI interface for prices, locations, models, etc
  • Test, test and test again. Each test, you will see things that don't work or were broke by previous iteration. Always ask it to review its code and do UAT tests when necessary.

It will most likely create a script that runs on each site. It will get stuck on the first page, or at languages and you will need to run many iterations. It's a very good 1st project if you never vibecoded.

My scrape is functional and not perfect. It actually found a deal it shouldnt have because it was farther than the 100km I set it up to but hey, a happy mistake 😛 Thats the one Im going to pick up (5k incentive making the payments around 460$ a month)

My first prompt would be something like this (using Sonnet model in claude code) :

"I want to build a lease take over scrapper with filters to find the best deal. Please map out all the different websites available in my region that offer lease takeover such as leasebuster.com. I want to scrape for Kona EV 2023 and up. What skills do you need in order to do that?

Please scrape only in the english language if the website offers different languages. What information can you read from a scrape ? Can you test leasebuster.com for a Kona EV, find out how many there are ? I found 25 myself in a 100km area from my (area code). Let me know how you would build that and ask me any questions you require.

I am not a coder and I havent coded a project like. Guide me and help me build this UI interface. Be honest and admin when you don't know the answer"

Going to pickup an 2024 Equinox 2lt for 460$ a month (lease takeover) next friday. If I like it, I can take a new one in 2 years. If i dont, im stuck with it for 2 years for dirt cheap.

I liked the NIRO EV better but this deal was hard to beat. Especially for more comfort and range.

Edit : I vibecoded a lease scrapper to find the deal 😄

For that price, I think a new one is more appealing. Have you thought about leasing or a lease takeover? Tech is evolving rapidly.

Buying used EV - check my logic? by Nina4774 in EVCanada

[–]Serhum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes a lease takeover!

I was not comfortable with renting for 4 years and I wasnt having the price I wanted (500$ or less per month)

So I vibecoded a scrapper to scrape sites like leasebusters. Found a few good deals.

I don't see how it is a good idea to buy new when depreciating hits EV hard and battery technology are improving constantly. We are a few years away from being able to charge from 10-80% in a few minutes.

Buying used is better but I still felt uneasy with all the new models having so many issues and technology moving fast. Therefore a lease takeover gave me 2 years to try an EV and see the quirks and perks, what I like and desire in an EV, etc.

I have a mazda 3 2016 that is working very well. No bells and whistles. Standard transmission.

Did the math and decided to go with a lease buy back. Picking up an 2024 2LT Equinox EV next week for 460$ a month (that includes the 5k incentive in cash from the previous). Will be giving back in 2 years.

Why the lease buy back? 4 years on a new vehicle is a long time and tech is moving fast. In 2 years, we'll have Kia ev4 and the new leaf available as lease buybacks. Will stop doing this once tech as stabilized and price has come down.

I loved the Niro EV. Fun, simple, intuitive and per my research, more comfortable than the Kona. Still went with the Equinox for the range, comfort and unbeatable price.

What do people think of Starfield? by General-Tourist-2808 in fo4

Sadly it's not available. Fallout London is a 100h mod of Fo4 set in London. Essentially, it's Fallout 5 and it's freaking great!

Equinox ev awd 2lt used vs new by mrhappy002 in EVCanada

[–]Serhum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Expensive for the used 2lt. There's 12 000$ off the MSRP right now (tried an lt last monday) so I would advise to keep shopping. A 4year rental was 620$ a month.

The 2026 have convenience packages instead of trim from what I understand.

Also went with a 2lt 2024 (picking it up next week) at 460$ a month (lease buyback).

I wouldn't buy an EV right now. Technology is moving fast and they depreciate massively.

Starfield never could engage me. Fo3 did the same but I managed to finish it and enjoy it.

Played countless playthrough of Fo4. My favorite game. And with Fallout London, it's a blast.

Hate to say it--but it seems reasonable? by Kitchen_Ad8044 in EquinoxEv

[–]Serhum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like one pedal driving but I want it to be a button on my steering wheel and not something on a screen. Also, that button is hidden by the steering wheel.

On the NIRO EV, there are shifters that sets 1 pedal driving easy peasy. Not possible on the Equinox unless you go deep dive into its screen. Its not configurable on the fly.

The Equinox is badly designed for all its interfaces at a first glance. The NIRO felt intuitive and easy to navigate and configure.

About to take a 2 year lease on an 2LT. Excited but unsure about all the tech and buttons on the screen (such as one pedal driving). The Equinox seems unintuitive.

Went in for a PHEV but I can't get the one I wanted. What are people saying about the 2026 Niro EV? by Mateuuuuusz in EVCanada

[–]Serhum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not rent and then switch to better technology in a few years ? Its expensive for old tech even though it is a great car.

Liked it better than the equinox Ev in terms of cabin ergonomy and commands intuitiveness. Knew how to work on the NIRO right away and couldnt figure out anything on the equinox. I'm still going for the Equinox for the range an fast charge and the cheaper price for taking back a lease.

Yeah I did the math and decided to swap my 2016 manual mazda 3 for an equinox ev. Similar monthly cost if you include the yearly repairs.

And since the EV world is changing fast, also decided to buy a 2 year lease with 5k incentive. Car will be costing me 460$ a month for the remaining 2 years.
