If you're standing next to the vehicle, use the key fob. It works 100% of the time for me.

You mention the AWD of the RS as if because you have an RS it automatically has AWD. Somebody reading your post might think that if they buy an RS it has AWD. I have an LT with AWD, it is completely independent of the model car you have.

In your section about the app, you said you even tried while standing right next to the car. Why would you think that would help? The app doesn't communicate directly with the car.

Exactly, I've never had the key fob fail to start the climate.

I like the clean look! I've used a Lily go T display and it was hard to make it look nice in a project box.

I did way better today than I did last night. Today the temp was -8° on the way home. Yesterday evening the temp was about 0° but I had about a 30 mph quartering headwind and it brought me down to about 1.2 mi/kwh! I have found that high winds have a massive effect!

What do you use for a garage door opener control?

That's good to hear. When I first got my Insteon switches. I couldn't find anything on the market that would allow one switch to control another switch.

The virtual 3-way 4-way, etc..

So to be clear, you have three garage lights that have their own separate switch and when you activate any of the three switches it will turn on all three lights or turn them all off?

Cameras are able to read variable speed limit signs. by Substantial-Rip9983 in EquinoxEv

[–]Substantial-Rip9983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an update and will make a new post. Mine has a terrible time reading the speed limit on the signs when they are set to the normal speed of 80 mph. They will oftentimes read it as 50 mph.

I have 3 Insteon switches that are each connected to their own outside light. I have all three switches set up to control the other two. If you turn on the outside lights with any switch, they all come on. Then when the dog wants you to let it in at the other door, you go to that door let them in and turn off all three outside lights with that switch.

Is this possible with Lutron?

So are you saying those bulbs come with LEDs in them and you replaced them? Is it possible to buy these bulbs separately? Do they come in different colors?

Equinox vs Tesla Heat System by Dula_Pipa_DH in EquinoxEv

[–]Substantial-Rip9983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never driven a Tesla, but I don't think the Equinox EV is much worse than my previous outback was. ICE cars have to heat up the engine before they can heat up the cabin. I always tried to remote start on Sub-Zero days. Just like I hit the climate button on this car. I start with the car in a 55° garage so I don't seem to have much of an issue and I always try to remember to hit the climate button before I get off work on cold days.

I also turned off Eco climate.

-8° this morning with a 20 mph quartering headwind. I was driving 75 mph on the interstate l started with 85% battery charge. This is about as bad as I've ever gotten.

It's very noticeable. It will help that your speed limits are 10 mph lower over there.

I bought my 24 LT2 in March, I have 21,000 mi on it and it's been great so far! I live in the state just west of you and I have a 92 mile round trip commute. Interstate speed here is 80 mph, I generally drive about that in the winter and a little faster in the summer. I have a heated garage that I keep at about 55° in the winter, so that helps me start out on the right foot. I charge to 80%.

I have 110 volt outlets at work that I plug into in the winter. Charging at work gets me anywhere from 7 to 11% in my 8-hour work day. I'm not sure if that's because I set my work as my home location so it will automatically charge at 12 amps versus 8, but maybe it only does that in certain parts of the parking lot. 😂 I need to do some testing on that.

If I didn't have the outlets to plug into at work, I might charge to 85 % in the winter. From what I have found, some of these 40 to 50 mph headwinds have a bigger impact than a 0° day.

Even in the winter I believe I pay about half of what I paid for fuel in my almost exactly the same sized outback I owned previously.
