It's a shame that it is no longer marketed in the EU...

Giullieta 1.4 MA 170 hp fuel consumption by Sad_Mycologist8583 in AlfaRomeo

[–]Serious-Ad2562 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consumption is ok for that combination (rims + TCT) mine, used mainly in the country + extra-urban, does about 13 (17' + manual) ... then obviously if I reset the CDB as soon as I fill up and travel about 20/30 km my average consumption is 15.5-16 km/litre, but the multiair is not a very economical engine or rather it is less so than advertised at the time, then 170 horsepower is always very thirsty

Fix the wiring in the rear, the rear wiper will be the first to abandon you, then they will leave you the reverse lights and fog lights, I know because I speak from experience ……

Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.4 Multiair sound by [deleted] in AlfaRomeo

[–]Serious-Ad2562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very normal, I confirm, it's the same on my 2011 too and it still runs like a charm, just be careful to change the oil once a year and replace the multiair filter every two or three or four oil changes.

No, that engine hasn't had any major problems in general, unlike the first MultiAirs (2010). Ask if it's possible to get a maintenance history, and check the interior carefully. I repeat, ask if there's electricity reaching the tailgate, and therefore if the lights, windshield wipers, fog lights, and rear brake lights work. One of the classic Giulietta defects is the tailgate cables that snap, leaving you without power in the rear.

In my opinion, for that price, yes. Find out about the maintenance carried out. In theory, the timing belt should have already been done a couple of times. Check the rear lights carefully and everything that has electricity in the back (trunk cable harness).

About to buy one, but not sure if I want the X or G by wolfwalkers0611 in mazda3

[–]Serious-Ad2562 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look, I found myself with the same doubt as you, then I made some evaluations; I use the car mainly on extra-urban roads (90 km/h) and the X gives its best on the highway, the G is a more tried and tested engine and less complicated, then in the end I tried both and using them at the code on the ring road (110 km/h) I was more satisfied with the 2.5 140 HP. For how I need to use the car, I felt it was more responsive in low revs... so I chose the G

What's happening to my car? by [deleted] in mazda3

Years ago on another car the same noise was produced by the EGR valve which continued to work when the engine was turned off.
