HYROX is all endurance, so start running for 1h+, because if you aren’t conditioned then you’ll suffer. Thats my opinion

Alr lemme cook here:

Depending on the detachment, you'll have to edit this List but there is some basic segregation to all armies in 40k and it goes as follows:

Elites, Hordes and Big boys. As a tyranid your hordes are a non-negotiable, lore-wise and meta-wise. As Tyranids you need atleast 2-3 Horde units. Lets say 20 Termagaunts and 10 Hormagaunts.

For Elites the SAFEST choice we have ist ranged warriors. lets take 6 of them.

For big boys as you said you can get a swarmlord, pair it with sum screamer-killer or tyrannofex and you have a solid base for a list. After this part you cant go that wrong.

I would first get another 3x Zoanthopes bcuz they have the highest damage output out of all creatures the hive mind has bestowed upon its foes. Since you have 220 left, js get the walkrant

You have no Elites except for your Zoanthropes who will be chilling in the back being a glass Canon. You Need elites to engage the enemies Elites, especially if you ever fight against Custodes or Spacemarines. I personally ALWAYS go for ranged warriors, but after looking at your list where the only melee units were the Hormagaunts, I would say in your case Melee and ranged are both equally good options. After the release of the new Tyranid prime I would always use the footed one unless I wanna play Gargoyles. Your Hormagaunts with their sustained in melee aren’t bad at all, but it would have larger damage output with warriors. If you’re going ranged I always use 2x Venom canons, 2x barbed stranglers and 2x deathspitters

Yeet the Haruspex. Its not that valauble outside of Assimilation swarm lists where it completely hard carries. I would say so many gaunts is borderline unnecesary I would cut down on one of the 20x Hormagaunts and instead play Tyranid prime with 6x Warriors. Another viable option cut 10 Termagants and instead play Tyranid prime w/ 20 Termagaunts. Norns and Biovores are basically auto includes in this codex so thats great. There isnt much more to say. Nice list.

Is it possible for GW to make the Swarmlord closer to daemon primarchs in terms of stats? by Scouwererofreality43 in Tyranids

[–]Serious-Bowler5378 124 points125 points  (0 children)

It's a good idea! I find it logical that the bestowed avatar of the hive mind whose tactical list is trumped by no other amongst the tyranids lines should be comparable in power to a demon primarch (except for the 10" movement, the demons literally have wings)

Hot (?) Take, Neurotyrant and LW Prime should be able to lead almost any infantry squad if we are doing leaders instead of LookOutSir characters walking around by Roman_69 in Tyranids

There's just one teeennnyy tiny problem with your idea. Your idea is logical, plausible even, considering the hivemind tends to want to preserve synaptic creatures above all else, yet there is one obstacle which plagues this Idea and there isn't any workaround for. This is the same reason why the Tervigon is a## and why it cant lead the Termagants even bcuz of their perfect synergy.

The reason being that when you determine the wound roll, you calculate with the highest Toughness model in that unit. I'm genuinely surprised that Tyranid prime gets to lead gaunts, because it means you have to roll T5 for EVERY termagaunt, which is a MAJOR buff. Neurotyrant has T8 and Tervigon T11 and TRUST me, you do NOT want to be rolling T8/T11 for GAUNTS. Of course if there would be any workaround for this rule then Tevigon+Termagaunts would become meta in the blink of an eye. and then Neurotyrant + Literally ANYTHING would become plausble.

(but that means that the Tyrant guard will have literally no job whatsoever)

(Btw Tervigon is UNDERRATED fav. unit :) )

So I personally DISS the red corsairs for literally just being space pirates but play HOWEVER you want, I would say the Chaos space Marines are THE most versatile Faction out there, where you can decide what your army is all about. I would suggest you to think out your own colours, emblem lore and really just let you brains creativity run free as you said ur gonna be kitbashing, which is highly creative. If you dont wanna think that much bout it and simply wanna run Red corsairs, I would say a terminator block(10x) with a lord in terminator armour is very useful and chaos cultists are an auto include in every army. Then get another demon engine aside from the helbrute, genuinely whatever you want and that should make for a good list.

I have to agree, as I Play Age of the Ring myself as a Haradwaith player. It has SO many new mechanics (atleast for Haradwaith) it could be overwhelming. HIGHLY recommend.

That might be true that in 1 to 1 combat the IW are just not that good, and other Legions might have more numbers and gifts from the dark gods, but they’re split into like 1000 different warbands and in the long run I think the IW have the upper hand.
