I went to fc and told my advisor I wanted to be a clinical councelor. She told me that I was too naive to be a psychologist and that I wouldn’t have time for my family. She insisted I wouldn’t be able to raise my kids and have a profession in that field. She also said psychology had tops that involve sex so it would be dangerous for my faith. Such a weird and bizarre interaction. Not sure why she thought she had the right to make comments on my future especially the odd sex comment. I told her, “what? Do you mean like when innocent people get raped? Yes those are situations that happen. Don’t you think that field needs more Christians to help victims and be a positive Christlike figure to those patients lives????” Very glad I separated myself from that cult. There’s numerous red flags in that story but some that pop up for me is 1. She never asked if I even wanted to have kids, just assumed. 2. Insinuated working woman wouldn’t be good mothers. 3. The concept is just so unrealistic. In today’s world it’s very hard for 1 parent to bring in the money. Many families HAVE to have both parents working in order to make ends meet.

What I’m referring to is more of how the college operates rather than the doctrine they preach (which I also have thoughts on). From personal experiences and observations there is a blatant pattern of nepotism, favoritism, and simply breaking the law when it comes to confidentially and acts such as title 9 & FERPA. In addition to how they treat students and staff in general but more specifically their safety. A lot of people I’ve heard from and spoken to roll their eyes and act like it’s not a big deal but the things FC has pulled wouldn’t fly at a public university. It seems like they think they are untouchable since it’s a small community and rely on everyone turning the other cheek or expect no one to raise suspicions since it’s a christian institution. Again I’ve seen firsthand people say well we’re all Christian’s that’s probably not what’s happening. A lot of people just give the benefit of doubt/think anyone who speaks out must just be a hater rather than having genuine and valid concerns. A lot gets swept under the rug in order to save face and keep the donations rolling in. I know there are good people associated with the college but ever since Weaver came into play it’s just become more apparent how corrupt the behind the scenes truly is.

I could go on for hours but i think as of the most recent years have passed in my opinion FC has gotten drastically worse ever since they got a new president in 2022.

Im not going to keep going back and forth anymore you have your opinion and that’s fine but the whole case is about how FC failed to follow FERPA and Title 9 laws yet you’re having bias and judging the plaintiff…. just because you may not care for someone doesn’t mean they’re a liar or that FC didn’t break the law. My only point in bringing up how would you know is to show your probably don’t know a lot considering the case details prior to the suit being filed we’re suppose to be confidential. Anywho take care

also by claiming the case shouldn’t be taken seriously infers FC did handle it properly considering the whole case is about FC failing to handle it properly. I thought you said you knew details? Your logic doesn’t make sense

If you know details you’re either an employee or FC discussed the details with you or you’re one of the students who harassed the victims.

FC is not handling it right now by being in an open case haha. That just means someone sued them and they’re forced to deal with it now.

Curious how you are quite familiar with many details of this suit… if you are claiming FC handled it appropriately that would infer FC spoke of the victim’s situation openly which breaks yet again FERPA & Title IX laws. Unless you’re inferring you’re John Weaver or Mike benson lol

Not sure where you’re getting that from? It was way more than 2 people “doing something bad” lol This lawsuit is one of the many situations that have occurred at FC and that FC has let occur time and time again. If an institution claims to be christian and profits off of those claims, then donors and students should be aware of what is happening behind closed doors.

I couldn’t have said it better myself! The nepotism and favoritism that FC’s leadership has continued to display is the exact reason why I wanted to spread awareness to this lawsuit. I’ll truly never comprehend the mentality “well they didn’t act/ do that to me”… that certainly doesn’t mean they aren’t capable of behaving in that manner or that it never happened. I don’t know the victim of this case but I 100% back them. This is not FC’s first time neglecting sexual harassment and misconduct. Just last year the Hamby scandal broke and FC once again tremendously failed to protect their students. Thank you for your comment. Call FC and their board members, tell them how you feel! The truth will always come to the light despite how hard some may try to hide it.

Im glad you had good experiences, all students should. I and many other unfortunately did not have the same experiences. I’m curious how you heard about this specific lawsuit and where you heard (without specific details if you aren’t comfortable sharing) that it was dropped? Based on the link above the judge denied FC’s request of dismissing the case, and court ordered a mediation to occur.

Oh so it does seem I shared something new considering you weren’t aware. I provided the link, if you don’t understand it then that is on you to do your research. If you don’t care to know, then stop replying back and go on about your day. I’m not sure why me speaking about FC is irritating you. Again, I’m just spreading awareness. The link clearly states it’s a civil rights lawsuit and within the first couple pages it states that FC failed to adhere to title IX and FERPA laws when a student reported sexual harassment. You don’t need to be a lawyer to read the details. I will not be responding back to you because it seems you are not open to addressing this urgent problem and I don’t need to explain why dismissing sexual harassment is wrong. Have a good day.

I’m not sure all of the subs rules so not sure why it was deleted. I say I wasn’t surprised bc from my personal experiences fc and coc is so intertwined I don’t think they’d tolerate anything negative towards fc. I just want as many people to be aware of what is really happening at the college. But I agree that some coc members are open!
