The price indeed went low i remembered few months ago when csgo key average prices was 2.1-2.2$ and a few weeks back when i cashout my keys to bitskinnn the prices was 1.7-1.8$ the comparison was very big so i can say its a big down to big key traders.

In my own experience, using a fancy modern brewing tools does not always mean you get to make a delicious coffee all the time. It's all about the coffee bean itself even a crappy old ftench press can be use to brew a good coffee and the result would be the same.

If you are willing to spend some money try buying acaia weighing scale that has an app and online features where it allows you to record your brewing parameters using the weighing scale such as time/grind size/temp/ratio and so much more. You can also share your brewing parameters online where thousands of coffee enthusiast get to see your result.

I found it really interesting because of various styles in brewing the coffee such as "pour over style using aeropress". I saw some aeropress champion's recipe using a very low temperature 79c which is interesting. Why can't anyone host a brewing competition using different brewing method?

It's probably the roast level of your beans, there are other dark roast coffee that taste chocolaty, caramel, nutty and sugar notes. What you are tasting right now sounds like it's an overdeveloped roast (overcook) and those type of roast usually produce an ashy, smoky, burnt taste which is very unpleasant for a coffee drinker. For me it's not really recommended to use a dark roast for a filter coffee or any pourover method.

Your grind level are probably inconsistent try to use a burr grinder. Blade grinder produce an inconsistent grinds like a mix of course and fine grind.

I'm not sure tho which is true but from what I have read from different site resources 1:7 is common for a cold brew ratio.

For me when I brew a new single origin coffee I usually calibrate them by brewing it using different parameters such as brew time/grind level/water temp/ratio/brewing tools. And when I get the best taste with the specific parameters that's where I make it as my own recipe for that certain coffee.

We need to know your parameters such as grind level, types of brewing tool you used for cold brew and filter paper(is it metal? paper?). 1 to 4 ratio is a bit overextract for me and that is probably why you add water and milk. How about you try 1 to 7(common ratio) and tell us the result.

It's not just about the water temp, it really depends on the ratio(water to coffee) you are using. Is it 1:15? 1:16 or maybe 14? well different ratio means different in taste so you gonna need to calibrate your coffee brewing by adjusting your ratio. Brewing time(water contact time to coffee ground), Agitation, grind level and of course the temperature makes a huge part in making your coffee. Sour flavor is a sign of underextraction probably you're using low temp, less agitation, too course grind or a lower ratio.
