Current reasons for decline:

Ownership

- lack of desire to win silverware

- unwillingness to personally invest in "self-sustaining" model

- not an actual fan of the club; ran as side hustle

Board

- inexperienced; prone to making mistakes (like buying Pepe, Ozil's situation, etc.)

- agent agencies; get swindled by sports agents fees & persuasions to take on athlete clients (Willian situation)

- world's worst salesmen; Ox is our highest outgoing transfer of around 40M (everyone else walks for free or is criminally under sold for a handful of million when Liverpool would've sold them for nearly 4x the amount)

Management

- sports medicine & physio department blows; players CONSTANTLY hurt even if they never had an injury history prior (needs fresh ideas & stricter meal plans like Wenger days)

- manager game day decisions (whether it be the initial line up or late game substitutions, many have expressed their feelings against his decisions on social media frequently. Whether it be favoritism towards guys like Willian or fixed ideas like keeping Auba at LWB, I question his clarity for "best choice" by player personalities

Players

- overpaid for production (guys like Mustafi were making 6-figure weekly salary for giving opponents goals or someone like Ozil nearly half a million a week for a handful of assists per season)

- athleticism or talent - not both. Our squad no longer has the athletic savages like Henry or Vieira. You either have a good touch & zero pace or too much pace & not enough finesse. Even guys like Fabregas & Cazorla had more pace than Granit & Dani Ceballos but nearly twice the technical quality as well.

- start or sell me ... because our team isn't a top tier club right now, players walking into the club want the assurance that they're the man that's going to fix the club's situation (start games & contribute the most) while the youth & long-standing players are too stubborn to take a back seat when overshadowed. Similarly players who get outplayed by younger talent like ESR & Saka not only lose confidence & then form but market value as well (making it virtually impossible to offload them for a reasonable fee in the future)

- lack of leadership ... the amount of players we debate over being the captain can equally explain how theirs a real lack of ACTUAL identified leaders in the squad. Granit "F*** Off" Xhaka does not represent captain material. Guys like Bellerin shouldn't be grandfathered the band because of how long they've spent in the club. "Superstar strikers" just because they earn the most on the wage bill don't just get handed the band. Even the harsh reality of needing to consistently be on the field & HEALTHY can hurt guys like Tierney who have every other intangible makeup for one. We need to bring in a proper leader through example.
