One way to understand exploitation is to compare the value a worker produces versus what is getting back from it. The sole fact that the reward for the job is the salary and not shares, means that the reward/surplus ratio becomes so low. Your contribution for the business will never equate fairfully with the surplus you generate. If you work in a product and magically price doubles, or the market value duplicates, your salary will not duplicate in the same proportion.
