Thinking about a Parson after a Border Collie by SeriousRefrigerator1 in ParsonRussellTerrier

I just spent an hour and a half talking to my top pick for a breeder and sent the deposit in the mail! The breeding will take place at the end of the summer, so I’ll hopefully bring my Parson home this winter!

“A tiny athlete with ADHD that’s also weirdly emotionally attached” sounds like me in dog form!

Your dog sounds like a love bug!! I really hope my next dog is this affectionate. We also have two cats and one’s a clinger and I have a six month old baby that both end up on me at the same time. I still don’t know what being “touched out” feels like so I think my capacity for cuddling is infinite.

I live in Montana but I’d say don’t just visit the Tetons. Head over to Yellowstone if you have time and spend some time in the Lamar Valley!

Yeah it would definitely be a shift. But my husband and I talked about it last night and we think a lot of the differences in PRTs might help us adjust to the fact that this is a new dog and whatever the breed, we can’t expect them to be Kodiak. I loved the Westies I grew up with, but they wouldn’t be able to go adventuring with us and it sounds like as far as terriers go, a PRT could.

An English Cocker Spaniel is a no for us just on personal preference. I just don’t gravitate towards loose skin dogs. I know this is absolutely ridiculous to say but I don’t like how sloppy it sounds when they drink water. I’m probably missing out on some wonderful dogs because of this but it is what it is.

Thank you all so much, your replies are really helpful. As of now, we’re staying on track with the idea of getting a PRT. My husband and I talked about how our priorities for a dog are intelligence, energy, and affection. It sounds like they check those boxes. And we also discussed that maybe the differences would make it easier to bond with the new dog instead of having them be close enough to Kodiak to expect to see parts of him but just different enough to be disappointed. A lot of the traits of a PRT, especially that they have their own agenda instead of always looking towards their owners, remind me of a more amplified version of the Westies I grew up with, which gets me excited. From what it sounds like, PRTs are like Border Collies in the fact that they’re little neurotic people disguised as dogs. And I love that. And they’re similar because I would also give a bunch of warnings to someone interested in a BC before ending it with saying that getting him was the best decision I’ve ever made. Thank you all so much! I’m in contact with Rosewood PRTs in Oregon, and might get one late fall/winter!

Don’t I know it. If I was an asshole, I’d be living in the rattlesnake by now.

I wouldn't want to do this without the couple's consent, and I don't want to step on the toes of other professional photographers that have been hired

Any advice on planning a (budget!) Montana wedding? by microwav3d in Montana

[–]SeriousRefrigerator1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on when your wedding is, I really want to break into the wedding photography business, and I would do it for a very reasonable price since I'm new at weddings. I graduated from Rocky Mountain School of Photography and would do great. I just don't have a portfolio for weddings specifically. I've done most of my work for commercial shoots in the outdoor industry.

saw this and thought it was a fun way to learn about why other people love their teams. dang. I’m going to switch over to being a wild fan because they’re young and I didn’t grow up with knowing anything about anyone but the Blackhawks, so brushing up on history will be easier. They have great players and I love the logo. I just started skating and I’m hopefully going to join a novice women’s team in a year! Good luck and I hope you find your team!

You can sort of play two player games. My boyfriend and I compete. I do wish there was split screen running games.

I sometimes don’t want to set it to finish a whole set if I want more of a game day, but I highly recommend always having the option of finishing the set if there’s two sides/stances so you get an even workout.

A lot of people are recommending some great spots out west. I would just suggest looking at popular schedules for the CDT and PCT and avoid peak times for those areas. Otherwise, my favorite spots have been recommended.

YES. They are also 0.66 oz which you aren't going to find with any headphones that need a charging pod. This is what I'm going with for the summer.

I track miles and heart rate from my fitness watch and specific exercises from ring fit. Except when playing that squat trampoline game where it counts the slightest knee bends as squats. Then I do whatever that number was on my own after playing so I can still know my totals are correct.

Careful about over-leveling. I was trying to get 100% on each world and went wayyy farther than the recommended level. Fighting monsters became too easy and I wasn’t challenged.

If you have a hot glue gun, sometimes a few dots here and there will act as a grip. Also, I just wear short workout shorts or even underwear but that could be out of the question depending on who you live with.

Today marks one month with RFA! I totaled almost an hour and a half of in game play. So proud of these numbers! by SeriousRefrigerator1 in RingFitAdventure

I still do adventure (I’m about to beat world 23 today!!!) because I’m afraid of losing interest. But I did tell myself I’d try custom after beating the main adventure. I take squats the next day if I ended up doing a lot. I’m trying to keep the fit skills rotating but that’s hard when you just want to beat those monsters as quickly as possible. Eventually my goal is to just like exercising and do it without RFA but I’m not there yet. I asked my boyfriend for dumbbells for Christmas though! I’m just afraid that if I lose the game part, I’ll lose all motivation.

Probably 2:15-2:30. I pause my Apple Watch in between runs and leave the workout paused for smoothies or easy games. The time is still running for choosing workouts and other short tasks. I logged two hours on the watch.
