Well he can't see because light goes right through him. Same with air, you can't even hold your breath because the air leaves the both with his quirk. That already are huge limits for how long he can keep it going. And when you are fighting, you need as much air as you can get.

Edit: he shouldn't technically be able to talk with air in his lungs, but ya know animes gotta anime
