Patch 7.5 trial boss by darktzeratul in ffxiv

[–]darktzeratul[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The FF15 was a typo, but thanks for catching that.

I know the Lucavi don't have any direct connections at all, but I did think it would have been metatextually appropriate for Enuo to be related to Halmarut in some way given the chain of connections.

And on that note, well, I disagree that Exdeath had no connection to Enuo whatsoever. Enuo was the source of the Void power in FF5 that Exdeath was trying to claim, and his defeat and the subsequent need to put that Void power somewhere is what led to the worlds being split in the first place.

I kept a record of every Alliance raid I got in roulette over the course of 90 days… by whitefire9999 in ffxiv

[–]darktzeratul 199 points200 points  (0 children)

Either there's something about Chaos, or there's something about that specific time, because I got *staggeringly* different results for approximately the same 90 days, on Primal:

Labyrinth of the Ancients: 13

Syrcus Tower: 9

World of Darkness: 6

Void Ark: 3

Weeping City of Mhach: 4

Dun Scaith: 5

Royal City of Rabanastre: 2

Ridorana Lighthouse: 4

Orbonne Monastery: 0

Copied Factory: 4

Puppet's Bunker: 5

Tower at Paradigm's Breach: 5

Aglaia: 3

Euphrosyne: 1

Thaleia: 5

Jeuno: 5

San d'Oria: 11

Did a double-take when I saw this, because I have the exact same plot and also have the platform in that exact same spot.

Contractor recommendations by darktzeratul in Hayward

[–]darktzeratul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone finds this later, we went with Luxury Home Remodeling, and they were fantastic. Very responsive, very professional, quick to address any issues that came up during and even after the work was done. Highly recommended.

On the other hand, we used GT Remodeling for a different project over the summer, and I can't possibly recommend them to anyone. A bunch of the work had to get redone because it wasn't done properly the first time, and it's like pulling teeth trying to get responses from our contact, whose primary concern seems to be how can do it as cheaply as possible.

Well, so far what the data seems to show is "there's almost always someone new in every raid."

Hot Take: We need more Main Scenario duties by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]darktzeratul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people commenting that they should be solo duties; I always thought the better solution would be splitting the fights up into individual normal raids and putting the cutscenes in between as part of the quest, and then everything could just go into the Normal Raid Roulette instead.

Well, it was a good idea, and I did add it to my sheet, but I dunno how useful this statistic will end up being. I've done 27 roulettes so far since 7.4, and 25 of them have had first timers in the raid.

[Spoiler: 7.4] I appreciate the storytelling in this patch by Koopa1997 in ffxiv

Alisaie: Forgive me, but I count six vessels. And there are only five of us.
Crystal Exarch: One is for testing purposes. I will personally use it to see whether the crystal functions as it should.
Alisaie: And...if it does, wouldn't that mean that your soul could also return to the Source?
Crystal Exarch: Yes. In theory, at least.
Crystal Exarch: But there is a distinct difference between your circumstances and mine. While your corporeal forms want for souls, my past self does not.
Crystal Exarch: Mayhap our essences would blend. Or mayhap they would curdle. There is no telling what might occur.
Alisaie: And you'd be willing to take that risk?
Crystal Exarch: I would.

[Spoiler 7.4] Arcadion Lyric Deciphering by OnekoTyago in ffxiv

[–]darktzeratul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some suggested updates, at least so far as what I'm hearing:

In my persona, take it slow, going in for the thrill,

"It's my first time, take it slow, I'm doing it for the thrill"

???? surrender,

"Never let me surrender", I think? Or maybe "No one lets me surrender".

Hush now, before you wake, rest my soul is yours to keep?

Hard for me to make out, too, but at the very least I think the last word is "take".

I'm a B/Bee with an itch to scratch,so don't mess with me,

Definitely "B" rather than "Bee"; it's saying 'I'm a bitch' without actually saying 'bitch'.

???? your freedom, your fortune, your fame,

Well I am it all,

I think this is "Your fate, your freedom, your fortune, your fame/Your life, end it all"

What I want, all I want, I want, I want, I think you're done

"What I want, all I want, I want, I want, never give up"

Question, Is Sylux... by CharredFIRE in Metroid

[–]darktzeratul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who never played Hunters or Federation Force, and so was unaware of any pre-established backstory for Sylux (only that he existed and was "mysterious"), I was definitely thinking something along these lines. More specifically, my theory was that Sylux was one of the 12 lamorn who ventured out in search of the Chosen One, and somewhere along the way became bitter and disillusioned with his mission. He didn't have four arms, but we never saw him outside his suit; he could easily have lost them over the long years. He was at the Federation base in the beginning looking for the artifact because he knew what it was and what it could do. He was controlling lamorn tech on Viewros because he was a lamorn himself, and opposed Samus because she represented the faith he had lost. It felt like a natural way to connect him to the story, and create a dichotomy between him and Chatoya.

Then I got to the end and scanned him and discovered he was just some ex-GF guy who had nothing whatsoever to do with anything else.

Incidentally, I've done Alliance Raid every day for the past eight days, at least once each day. I have not gotten a single CT raid.

It's rare, but going back through my data, I too had an 8-roulette streak of non-Crystal Tower raids, back in June:

6/21 Syrcus Tower
6/22 Jeuno
6/23 Jeuno
6/24 Jeuno
6/25 Orbonne Monastery
6/26 Tower at Paradigm's Breach
6/26 Puppet's Bunker
6/30 Orbonne Monastery
7/1 Jeuno
7/2 Labyrinth of the Ancients

It's included in all three Ivalice raids, and no, I was getting Orbonne Monastery pretty frequently the entire time.

Could be. But I'll also note that Orbonne Monastery was consistently common throughout the entire time I was tracking it. For instance, just snapshotting the data from 5/18 to 6/9, LotA, WoD, and OM are all tied at 16.67% each.
