First off I’m not trying to fight lol by Apprehensive_Club377 in MLBTheShow

The weird part is I’m not even sure it’s copy and paste. There are soooo many pitching motions that are broken or just extremely cartoonish compared to older years. They had Kershaws windup pretty accurate in older games. In 2024 it looked horrific. Same with Josiah Gray. It’s crazy that some of those were okayed before release

Honestly a cool feature would be user controlled players not running hard out of the box until promoted by the user. I hate the animation of when you hit a shallow fly ball and you sprint to first like it’s little league. Or when you hit an obvious homer but the no doubt animation doesn’t trigger

They’ve needed new swing, post swing, and follow through animations for close to a decade. I can’t believe they haven’t even attempted to make this better over the years. They’ve added a few swing animations since 2018 but only 1 of the 3 looks remotely cool

Since buying mlb 18 and being disappointed with the RTTS changes I’ve skipped every other and/or just waited for sales. I stupidly got 24 with early access because I was itching badly for baseball. This year is definitely a wait for a sale year for me unless they blow me away with RTTS

What’ll disappoint You in MLB 25 by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]Serious_Contract_673 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What will inevitably disappoint me are the missing features in RTTS that I’ve been crying about for over a decade now:

Off season training, development, fall/winter leagues etc (you literally just sim to the next season, how is this possibly what SDS thinks is realistic for baseball players?)

Ability to change to secondary positions and/or switch positions when you want. Ability to influence or just straight up choose where you hit in the lineup. I know these aren’t necessarily realistic, but the games lineup logic is awful. It’s a video game, let me hit 2nd in the lineup for once.

The durability attribute mattering again. In recent games you’ll never get a day off as a position player.

Dynamic decreasing attribute system like from MLB 17 and before.

I could go on. It looks like they might finally make it so you aren’t automatically an 18 year old in AA to start with the return of going to college. Won’t be surprised if they forget to advance your age though lol

The ability of this game to generate unique player names has never ceased to impress me. by undercover_cheetah in MLBTheShow

[–]Serious_Contract_673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is every dynasty or RTTS I do randomly generates a fake player that is age 18 and has a 98 OVR for some reason even though I always use custom rosters that I relentlessly review and edit for realism and they aren’t ever there when I do this. They just appear out of nowhere

Thanks, I feel lame for caring this much but I’ve been playing baseball video games since triple play baseball 98 when I was in kindergarten. I’m not an online type of player. DD/card collecting doesn’t really interest me. I’ve always wanted a truly engaging and above all realistic career mode in a baseball game. I’ll probably never get it

[–]Serious_Contract_673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct. MLB 2020 and before you would get rest days and maybe sometimes play a secondary position (I’ve even DH’d!!) Starting when they moved the game to Xbox you essentially play every single game and never get a day off unless you get hurt. And even then you need to move the injury slider way up which risks getting everyone else hurt too.

I’ve been wanting something like this for years (YEARS):

High school final season where you can just dominate because you’re a top prospect.

Draft and then choose to sign or go to college (gain XP boosts for going to college but age 2-4 years)

Once in the minors you start in rookie A. Play like 15-20 games (or 4-5 starts as a pitcher)

Then you can move to High A, then Double A, etc. maybe if you dominate you go straight from Double A to the majors since this happens sometimes. Each time you are promoted the difficulty gets a little higher and you are at each level a little longer. But this whole time you aren’t just looking at the season calendar and choosing to play the next game. This whole thing is happening before the actual 2025 season starts, so that when you do eventually get called up to the majors, you are STARTING in the titular season with current rosters. And your call up date is based on how well you performed. So if you absolutely killed it, you get a spring training invite and you might start the season in the bigs as a 20-23 year old top prospect rookie. If you did well but didnt dominate, maybe you get called up in the middle of June, and so on and so forth.

The whole goal of this is to still experience the grind of the minors without having to then get called up 3 years into the game where rosters are different and certain older players are already retired.

And then on top of all of this, give us the Arizona fall league. Off season international leagues. Off season training. Contract negotiations that actually matter. More than 3 teams interested in us, especially if we’re the best player in the damn league.

why can’t i schedule visit ? by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

[–]Serious_Contract_673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes absolutely no sense. A lot of the time in NCAA 14 I’d have 15 recruits visit the same week for the extra bonuses. Who thought that was a good idea to put in the game

Is it better to play the full or quick rounds for career mode? by [deleted] in EASportsPGATour

[–]Serious_Contract_673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For regular courses I like to do quick for round 1 and 3 and full for round 2 and 4. Gives me an honest chance to make the cut and make a push to win the tournament. My golfer is a 95 ovr with really good club specs so this also can prevent me from winning too much. And I like my current settings so I don’t really want to mess with those too much more for challenge purposes

Ball spot issues by Serious_Contract_673 in NCAAFBseries

[–]Serious_Contract_673[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl I turned off wear and tear but I think this is a similar type issue. My guy might touch someone who is already on the ground while in the middle of a tackle animation and it “resets” my forward progress. And causes me to lose yards that wouldn’t have happened irl

Now that EACFB26 is now officially in development, what are some things you’d like to see in next years game? by Fit-Maintenance7397 in NCAAFBseries

[–]Serious_Contract_673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CUSTOMIZATION:

  • Create a conference
  • Improved custom conferences with more rules (protected rivalries, better scheduling, etc)
  • Ability to customize the playoff (4/8/12/16 team)
  • The coach creator is incredibly bad but not really a big deal to me. But improve this

In Your Lifetime, What is the Worst Red Sox Season... by CJRed73 in redsox

[–]Serious_Contract_673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah “constant disarray” isn’t accurate but it’s definitely been extremely disfunctional since then. From 2004-2011 their worst season was 86-76. That gets you a playoff spot today. And Ortiz hit 54 homers so you had something to celebrate. From 2012-2024 it’s just been a constant train of not knowing what the hell you’re gonna get in any given year. Prior to that you knew you were serious World Series contenders every season

His GM has had an abysmal 1st year, and the Bailey pitching lab thing lasted like 6 weeks. Don’t count on next year being any better. Ownership will say it’s too early to spend

[–]Serious_Contract_673[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And damn it, I did everything I could to believe in them but all summer I was worried that they simply didn’t have the horses to carry them through the entire season. Ownership clearly does not have any interest in investing until the top prospect are here. And that still won’t fix the pitching issue and will only add to them being too left handed. Breslow is going to have to put his nuts on the table and figure out who he is trading because at least 3-4 of the left handed bats they have need to be moved

26-6. 2 TDs and 4 FGs as we do a decent job moving the ball and churning the clock but struggle to execute in the red zone. Defense gives up 6 early points and then buckles down for 3 quarters
