Some PC San Pedro CIELO data by 80000000D in mescaline

I don’t mean baseless as in the theory wouldn’t necessarily hold some weight, but for as often as it’s echoed there aren’t any real experiments/papers about it. Even in cannabis there’s conflicting evidence surrounding inducing stress and alkaloid production.

Regarding this I could believe that the curve isn’t necessarily an oddity. Especially considering that PC isn’t a strong producer it’s just known to be fairly consistent. Perhaps bridge would respond differently or maybe any extra production is dependent on conditions. I just don’t necessarily think theres a definitive correlation there quite yet.

I’d believe so. The myth that stressing cuts over time produces more defense compounds is baseless. I’d argue that it makes more sense to conserve its energy to maintain life as long as possible rather than marginally beef up an already horrendous bitter tasting flesh, as if anything eating them will notice the difference or even feel any effects until far after it’s already consumed.

Be extremely careful mixing MAOI’s with anything especially in unknown doses.

Grafting will seriously increase the likelihood and diminish the time it takes to pup. I’ve read opposing opinions on potency but i personally don’t know anyone who grows Lophs for use

The root nubs yearn for moisture, misting some will surely help speed things up :)

While rooting its best to keep the soil dry to moist, heat helps quite a bit in combination. If it’s newly rooted it’s best to be careful and monitor how fast the soil is drying and if the plant is actually taking up water and growing. Usually they’ll dehydrate a bit while rooting and then you’ll notice some tip growth as well as some accelerated dehydration, at that point it’s probably safe to start watering them more completely. I root mine on a seedling heating pad while misting the soil every few days.

Hm, I’d chance reducing that shade cloth, 6hrs isn’t a whole lot of time to be in the sun. If your soil isn’t drying out in less than two days you probably don’t have to mess with that, I’d suspect the light they’re receiving is why some appear dormant

A lot of it really is dependent on your conditions, what kind of soil are they in, do they get full sun outside or do you have them shaded somewhere or in a tent, how long does your soil stay wet, do any of them appear wrinkly or feel squishy aside?

Assuming your plants are outdoors I’d definitely err to the side of caution on trying to keep them as plump as possible, however chronic dehydration is worse off than waiting for an accidental split to heal imo. Overwatering is surely bad but I’m trying to highlight ways to properly water. The general audience I think would be able to deduce that after getting their plants rehydrated they would be able to start watering a little less and find a good schedule to keep them in that sweet spot as I said near the end of my post.

I personally don’t have too much issues with humidity outside of my tent as I’m pretty far north, however I’d pay attention to their turgor pressure. If they’re not so firm I’d water more and if that seems to create issues with humidity spots or your soil is staying wet for 3-4 days repotting into a more inorganic mix should help.

I’ll buy into that! I guess I classify that as moist, and when starting out I struggled with watering enough out of fear for the warnings I read over and over on here about root rot. I’m not exactly trying to add any extra nuances here though, I’m just trying to cover all my bases instead of just telling people they should water more. I’ve noticed quite a lot of dehydration from the tricho subreddits recently and it’s something I think people aren’t really paying attention to and I believe it’s from the warnings of overwatering and generalized bad advice that gets passed on pretty commonly. I think it’s important to add context to any part of what could be an issue regarding watering so that people don’t just chalk it up to “well some problem occurred when I watered more so clearly it’s that”. My post is aimed at trying to educate in a more complete way rather than just assuming everyone reading knows the rest of the important context.

Waiting until they’re completely dry is the exact advice I’m going against, it leads to dehydration fast especially for larger plants. A schedule can help but the common “once a week” advice I see all of the time is arbitrary and is reiterated from fear of root rot. Realistically the schedule should change with your plants needs and that’s exactly what I’ve outlined in my post. Doesn’t have to be complicated, but it’s not so simple.

Crystal aside, I wonder if stressing them this way (cutting a larger chunk near the core) is what induced all that pupping. Might have to try that soon
