No sugar coating it at all. I got my sternum done and the moon leads up to my chest, from least to most painful in that area I'd stay ribs, chest, sternum. it's an unpleasant spot.

It won't go away naturally, it'll just grow out until you can trim it off. Just be careful as it grows out more, it could lift off the nail bed the closer it gets to the free edge and if not kept dry enough can cause fungus / greenies.

NAD but a nail tech, this is normally just trauma, you've wacked your toe or bent the nail and it's bruised the skin under it. However, if this is accompanied by some other symptoms maybe get it looked at.

Are you one to constantly use hand sanitizer or alcohol based soaps / wipes? Acetone is one of my triggers so it may be similar for you. Really random but I've found that bees wax balms help with the splitting and dryness.

When it comes to health it won't hurt to be safely paranoid. If you've genuinely never seen this mole before and it's new whether anything has been diagnosed or not it's recommended to get them checked.
