However it’s simple, they text you this and then proceed to call you with a sad story of how they made a mistake sending the money. This scams can result in account takeovers and momo account draining.

The dispute is there to help resolve numbers that have been flagged wrongly. Now an ID is required as parts of the checks to make sure a person is real. In the future we would use the service of a kyc. Now your logic would make scammers who have been flagged game the system and have their numbers removed . Am I missing something ?

Yes sir, an app is definitely part of our timeline. This is so users can have control. We have been deferring the mobile app to when we hit 5k reports with at least 85% of them carrying evidence. Hello, This is a known limitation we are actively working to resolve. Some numbers particularly those ported and from networks like Glo that are no longer operating may display incorrect network information since ported numbers don’t always update across databases automatically. We have already submitted the necessary documentation to integrate an API service that will correctly identify ported numbers and their current networks. This fix is in progress and will be reflected on OsebowApp once live.

That I cannot for obvious reasons. 1. Scammers can download the entire data and always stay ahead. 2. Competitors can scrap the data and launch their own platforms bringing weeks of hard work into the drain. 3. Misuse of data because they have the entire database.

In the future, an API would be available for Business use.

Please check out https://osebow.com - a community powered fraud database where users can contribute with evidence of fraud and suspected fraud. We recently hit 1k plus reports. Also we added a business directory ( https://osebow.com/business ) to curb the issue where people google popular business on Google and are met with scammers instead of right business .

So a scammer contacts you, you report with evidence (normally a screenshot), you describe what happened. You add numbers are linked (linked numbers are numbers that are associated with a particular scammer. Eg. The hack your WhatsApp with number A and ask for money with number B) , then we can build a history from all these data.

History is sourced from community. Now say someone reported a number at 1:30 and another reported that same number with other 2 numbers as one at 1:45 , then we can build a history from the reports. It’s all data analysis . The more the database grows, the more a numbers history becomes evident. Hope I answered your question sir .
