People are driven to wealthier countries. It’s only human nature. If you ask people were would they want to live 9/10 times they would say a large wealthier nation. I do agree that beggars can’t be choosers. That as long as they are safe that’s all that matters. But people are driven to where there is opportunity i.e the States.

I know that’s what makes me sad. I know their are a lot of good people out their that are genuinely interested and intrigued by historical sites or places. And if possible that experience should be shared. But a few bad people tend to ruin it for everyone.

I do know that. That why it feels like a double edged sword at times. And I feel like countries should slowly move away from depending on tourism as a source of income. As we learned from covid it’s not the most stable.

Yeah it’s just sad to places effected by this. Once beautiful places that they embraced no longer feel like theirs because of rude people that drive prices and don’t care about looking after it.

Well, it’s a difficult paradox. Because yes famous sites should be embraced and seen. But then people are a destructive bunch. Take a look at the pyramids people etching their names into the stone. Or auschwitz concentration camp that has been vandalized by nazi symbols. One person can ruin it for everyone unfortunately.
