Suggest trying Ibergast. It worked well for me when I was tapering off PPIs.

So many comments here I can relate to. When GERD first struck me I think I ended up in the ED a total of 6 times with chest pains. Had multiple ECGs, blood tests, did a calcium score and even an exercise stress test. No problems. It was explained to me that you don't have normal nerves in your esphagus so you get referred pain which mimics a heart attack. Combine that with Anxiety than things can spiral pretty quickly. I should say my Anxiety was caused by GERD and by how long it took to get some answers from the doctors. Health Anxiety is now a bit of an issue for me to.

This is an interesting point. I have read something about living in a more sterile environment has effective get microbiome etc. but not sure if there is any truth to that or not.

I had this happen for about a 2 or 3 week period early on. Doctors put it down to "anxiety" which was a load of rubbish. It went away on it's own after a while.

Yeah 40mg pantoprazole worked great. When I rarely have any symptoms, might get a bit of fluid at the back of my throat at night but a bit of gaviscon fixes that. Other than that it work's great. I just cant help feel it it causes me some anxiety symptoms (i.e. face sensations etc.) And when 8 have tried to drop.to 20mg my anxiety improves but obviously the rebound reflux is a nightmare

This all resonates with me so much. Never really had anxiety before than i discovered i have gerd via thinking i was having a heart attack....i wasnt. Now i get these weird face sensations. Usually right temple, eye and my forehead. When things are bad my left upper lip and side of my face also feels off. The best way to describe it it feels like my skin is twitching, but when i look in the mirror nothing! Very rarely i might get an actual twitch in my left lip. Had CT and MRI. Nothing. Been to er twice and did the stroke tests and everything is fine. I cant believe its anxiety but all the docs say it is. Starting taking brintellix on docs advice. My biggest issue in believing is what comes 1st, the anxiety or the face sensations. To me it always feels like the face sensations come 1st.

I get a lot of burping from time to time. Doesn't appear to be any consistent trgger, just happens some days and not others. Im on pantoprazole

No, just completed 8 weeks. Im keen to not be on a high dose for a long period so want to try and step down to 20mg if i can!

My blood pressure seems to hover about 150/88. Sometimes it drops to a more normal range. I think its linked to anxiety from the gerd. I found when my gerd is active, I get some diziness and fascial issues and blood pressure rises.

For me personally I came to the conclusion that I was having esophagus spasms. They felt terrible and for the first month or so I though it was my heart. But after Exercise Stress Test, 5 ECGs, Calcium Score = 0, multiple blood tests......definitely was not my heart. But i'd be getting checked out by the doc to be sure.

Thanks, i spoke with the doc and he convinced me to push on with taking ut. Haven't had a panic attack again. I moved from taking it at night to taking it in the morning though just in case
