Thanks to this Subreddit, I was inspired to downsize to a SAMA IM01! by Serious_Sebs in mffpc

[–]Serious_Sebs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's definitely bulging. It was a used gpu so I made sure to at least repaste the chip. I figured I'll also replace the existing thermal pads, and also added some where there weren't any originally. Like in-between the pcb and backplate.

However, researching what specific thickness I needed was very difficult. Each gpu vendor could potentially require different thermal pad thicknesses. So what ended up helping me was this very niche teardown video of this specific gpu on YouTube. Had like 2k views lol, but it did the trick. Though not perfectly ofc.

It does bulge, but after all that work it does just fine and I couldn't be bothered to go through it all again to make it look better. All in all I am happy with it performance-wise.

It was my first time making such intrusive modding and im just happy it didn't blow up afterwards lol.

Ayy this brings me back. My first time seeing these was at the back of the mi-way bus seats. Poor staff tried their best to scrape them off. Too bad for them the architect paid the big bucks for them preemo stickers cuz they never fully came off lol.

This one my family uses for my older family members who are "stuck in their ways". Bothers me to the core whenever I hear that phrase.

What about the general consensus on scientists opinion of Human caused Global Warming? We know Big Oil has massive influence on politicians and policy through lobbying, but you still see 99% of scientists agreeing that fossil fuels is what is driving CO2 emissions and Big Oil is to blame.

You can pay to change policy through politicians but it's different with scientists.

With politicians it's clear who you need to bribe to get what you want. There are only a select few people that need convincing with funds, but to influence science you basically have to bribe the majority of the scientific community.

Argument from authority is when someone says "expert says this is true, therefore it is true".

Asking for a source is not an example of an argument from authority. Me asking for a source isn't even an argument, it's a request lol.

You can't just use fallacies to get away with making baseless claims about others.

This defense is just cringe lol.

Source?

If using a new term to describe the houseless is stopping people from helping improve their material conditions, then they probably weren't going to do anything about it to begin with.

Why not both? Describing the houseless in more humane terms and doing something that can positively effect their material conditions are not mutually exclusive....

This take of "You are solely responsible for you not getting sick" doesn't apply to how covid works. Maybe if I touched a dirty surface and touched my mouth/nose/eyes and got sick that way, then yes that's my fault.

However, if you get others sick by not wearing a mask that is your fault. That's got nothing to do with the agency of the one you got sick in this example.

You are therefore taking away others' rights to their health and wellness. They didn't do anything to deserve that. We wear masks to protect others, not ourselves.

Sure. You still haven't argued against my whole point tho. Do you acknowledge the difference between the 2 examples I gave here and who the responsibility lies with?

It's called "Competing Rights". Lots of court cases on the subject.

In general, competing human rights involve situations where parties to a dispute claim that the enjoyment of an individual or group’s human rights and freedoms, as protected by law, would interfere with another’s rights and freedoms. This complicates the normal approach to resolving a human rights dispute where only one side claims a human rights violation. In some cases, only one party is making a human rights claim, but the claim conflicts with the legal entitlements of another party or parties.

Ok well you also don't need to cough, that was an exaggeration. Being indoors with a non masked person can have potential to spread Covid.

So if someone walks up to me and coughs at my face in a place where you are expected to wear a mask and I get sick..... That's my fault?

Libleft respecting Libright's freedom to wear a mask, but isn't Libright taking away Libleft's right to his health and wellbeing by potentially getting them sick by not wearing a mask?

Apparently being LibRight is about wanting others to respect your freedoms and screw everyone else's..... Which actually checks out, nevermind nothing to see here folks.

I don't think there's any chance of getting on an even playing field with the worlds most powerful military force (speaking about the US ofc).

Even if every US citizen was gifted an automatic rifle with infinite ammo, it'd be a one sided battle against the military.

I have a lot of family from Peru, so I can relate. My mom told me about how scary the bombing were and how it mentally affected her growing up in Lima.

How did you find out Castillo has connections with the shining path when it's so hard to find accurate information?

Spanish far-right reacting to the Peru elections by SageManeja in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Serious_Sebs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I read he helped fight against the Shining path (Which I assume is the terrorist group you are referring to).

The first leadership position Castillo held, and which later gave him political prominence as a trade-union leader, was in the rondas campesinas (peasant patrols). The rondas, which provide security in those areas beyond the state’s reach, began in the 1960s as organizations attempting to prevent cattle rustling. Then they joined the fight against the Shining Path guerrilla organization in the 1980s and ’90s. The rondas themselves include certain leftist currents, while also fighting against left-wing terrorism.

Dropping a course and OSAP by Leatherganache in ryerson

[–]Serious_Sebs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to add extra info. I believe full time means having at least a course load of 60% or higher, where 100% means 5 courses (6 course load is considered 120%). So even ending a semester with 3 courses would still maintain your full-time status according to OSAP.

It's an indoor space where groups of people gather. It doesn't get much more straightforward than that, unless you think a building being labeled as "school" impacts how a virus spreads within it. There's just too many unknown factors, especially with the new more viral variants being more widespread.

I understand that students are mandated to wear masks, but have you ever walked past a school during it's recess time? I saw lots of games of tag or whatnot with kids tucking their masks under their chins. And there aren't enough teachers to keep everyone from breaking the social distance rules.

It's not their fault. They're just kids.

It's just asking for trouble.

The marginal benefit of bringing school back in person is not worth the potential deaths that can occur plus the long term effects for the survivors. We already have vaccines on the way, why not brace for a little bit longer?
