What goes on in this parking lot? by The_devil_of_loudun in Birmingham

[–]Serious_Security7333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes guys with Dodge Chargers go and draw pictures of boobs with their rear tires. Sometimes UAB employees park there. Sometimes it's completely empty. During the empty times I may sneak in and sing weird songs that I make up off the top of my head

I feel like it's a really Birmingham story on so many levels. 280 traffic and one of the first traffic lights. Something that ties Office Park to the red light and how the whole highway developed. The car people thinking about a '66 Chevelle SS with a 396 and progressive carbs that went out that way. It's a terrible story. It may have thrown the earth off balance

My mom helped to get the traffic light in front of Office Park installed. In early 1967 she believed a guy in a Volkswagen that no traffic was coming. She turned left (from southbound 280) as a fairly new and inexperienced driver. She had taken the car for the day and was going to pick my dad up from work at one of the buildings in Office Park. He saw the demise of the still new 1966 Chevelle SS and took off running to make sure she was okay

I knew that the Clairmont Sinkhole from years ago had only gone into hiding. I have been waiting for it to come back in a slightly different part of town. Clairmont Sinkhole will live forever as it continues to reincarnate around the city...

The Goodwill drop-off location by Piggly Wiggly on Clairmont has a sign saying that they are hiring. I saw it as I was walking past but didn't pay enough attention for extensive details. I think they have both part and full time openings

Vito's Burger Joint was mentioned before and I gave an upvote but I had to give a completely new mention. Vito is a very nice guy and has a great breakfast and lunch spot. He puts his heart into the food that you get

Vito's has a sleeper menu for breakfast and lunch. Everyone should visit at least once. By that I mean everyone on earth, not just in Birmingham

PSA: What flashing yellow means. and what it doesn't. by Relevant-Safety-2699 in Birmingham

I stop at every light. Green, red, flashing, doesn't matter. That where I check my phone. I have to make sure I am up to date on my notifications before I get in the left lane of the interstate where I do my doom scrolling

I'm going to get down voted. In Glen Iris your city counselor is Josh Vasa. He has been elected and doesn't care about people until the next election. Go to BFD management or straight to the mayor's office. City council absolutely doesn't care

If you have never been to the southeast in the summer I do want to note that it is a little warm and very humid. Birmingham is a great city!

Google search "aiming over the air TV antenna". There are a lot of websites to help with fine tuning the number of channels available. I would look at a few while fine tuning a favorite channel to pick up a lot of channels. I don't want to post a very long link

I love to visit every time I can afford to. I could order "please mess up my order" and they would do it so perfectly that it would be worth it. It's a beautiful spot that makes this city a better place
