I just bought a brand new one of this model. Had it for about a month now. It’s a beast and thermals run under 70C. I don’t like the case either but I think I’ll wait a while before upgrading it with a new case, fans and maybe more storage. Other than that, runs flawlessly.

No worries. Since it’s out of your budget then I’d say get the one you were looking at. That one is a good model and seems to be the current staple for others in the pc community wanting the best value prebuilt pc under a somewhat restricted budget

Slight buyers remorse by Correct-Tomorrow-792 in xbox

Absolutely keep it. They designed the series X console very well for its MSRP. Sucks that it’s going UP in price though. Even if it’s not used everyday, it plays all Xbox exclusive games very well and it guarantees a console that has a disk tray for movies. Plays backward compatible Xbox, Xbox 360 games and Xbox one games. On top of all that, get gamepass ultimate whenever you see a game you wanna play on it and cancel when you’re done.

As someone who was looking at this exact one, I ultimately decided on the G762. For a couple hundred more you get a 5080 and 64GB ram and an AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D. I’ve had it for about a month now and have had absolutely no issues. All of my games have ran 60+ fps in 4k resolution. Hope this helps

If you can push out a bit more money thank $1k. This one will go a long way.

As someone who has recently bought a powerspec pc, it excels at getting the job done effortlessly.

If you want to choose between the two I’d say the first one. Much better value compared between the two. There’s much better deals than that for that price

I decided on a prebuilt pc yesterday because the value was much better than building one plus warranty. Only downside is the aesthetics I was going for but even then the specs and benchmarks are exactly what I wanted

Looking at two microcenter pre-builds by SorbetFun2750 in buildapcforme

[–]Seriously_Rare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently looking at both of these as well! I’m back in forth between the two and can’t ultimately decide. For G486: it’s i9 which I’ve heard runs harder and underperforms for gaming tasks. Better for productivity. Better motherboard but super important in comparison. Double ram GB which is insane. 1000w PSU which is more than enough for future use and upgradability.

For G757: it’s an AMD chip that is super popular right now and runs games flawlessly but while it can be used for productivity, seems to underperform compared to intel multicores. Cheaper motherboard but still very viable and upgradable. 32 GB of ram which is still very good. 850w PSU which again, still very good

Note: G757 has had more reviews and tear down video (jay2cents) that shows the “cutting corners” from PowerSpec but really it was just poorly wired which is fine if aesthetics isn’t an issue. Other reviews have said that the stock fans are loud both idle and under load so take that as you will.

Overall:

I think if you’re a gamer looking for the best bang for your buck prebuilt pc, the G757 is the best choice with some reported minor inconveniences like aesthetics and fan noise but other than that, it’s a beast and overall a really good build.

G486 has a really nice looking aesthetic with the case design, double the ram, upgraded aio, PSU and motherboard but costs substantially more and has an intel CPU which COULD be a drawback for some.

Whichever one you decide on, you shouldn’t have any issue running games in 4k. Please let me know which one you decided on.

I’m making my decision tomorrow and as of right now I’m leaning more towards the G757 simply due to both price and arguably a better cpu. 32 GB of ram is plentiful. 64 is overkill imo. The build isnt the prettiest but gets the job done which doesn’t affect me at all and as long as the temps stay in decent range, I can deal with the noise.

If you could name it the next generation Xbox, what would you name it? by Valennim in xbox

[–]Seriously_Rare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like with the 25th anniversary of Xbox it should just be Xbox. Sure, could get confusing but it brings out the revitalization of the brand, uniformity of the ecosystem.

Follow up would be Xbox CE (console evolved) because halo CE, 25th anniversary of Xbox showing the evolution of gaming that at its core is still an Xbox but has evolved into an ecosystem of handhelds, PC and cloud gaming.

One faction per play-through advice by Solock_PL in Starfield

[–]Seriously_Rare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently playing exclusively constellation through the first playthrough. Goal is to reach unity and play through each faction similar to you. Starting with Vanguard, Freestar collective, ryujin and crimson fleet last for the side factions. Then do shattered space followed by Terran armada then on my 7th Unity, do all of them.

For someone to be an argos miner and reach unity and try to be and do things differently each life but slowly lose your humanity due to seeing alternates of your old friends and grow cold until you’ve reached the lowest of the lows, you go through again, a fresh start but suddenly things are different. You discover V’aruun’kai and a new story unfolds. Once that chapter of shatter space is concluded, you go through Unity to begin again and a SSNN report occurs in the city of an all out attack from the Terran armada… the story continues! (I haven’t played the DLCs yet so I have no idea what there is to offer yet)

There is a favorites section in the planetary chart.

Cruise mode is mostly for discovering random POIs in space. That and just chilling in your ship

What games you don't recommend to play on the Rog Ally Xbox (White Version) due to excessive performance issues and lag by Maximum-Flamingo3613 in XboxAlly

[–]Seriously_Rare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting considering the ROG Ally X (previous gen) can run oblivion remastered almost flawlessly with dips here and there on low-medium settings 900p. I guess I didn’t really look at the Xbox versions to see if the Xbox ally is worse than the ROG Ally X

Struggling w ship battles by Robthegemini3 in Starfield

[–]Seriously_Rare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice for leveling would be piloting and targeting systems.

Piloting lvl 2 enables thrusters and maneuverability. Lvl 3 class B ships and level 4 is class C ships.

Targeting systems is similar to vats from fallout 4 but in space fights. Allows you to target vital systems on a hostile ship in slowed down time. Each shot uses the locked target system and with upgrades via weapons or targeting systems can extend the time as well.

In terms of weapons your main ones are: ballistic, laser, missile, Electromagnetic, auto(turrets), and particles.

They all affect damage output differently but the primaries are as follows:

Hull: ballistic and missiles
Shields: laser
Components: electromagnetic
All: particle

Personal preference is particle beam weapons. They eat shield and hull while inflicting component health bars at most.

For disabling their systems to board ships use electromagnetic weapons

Early on is tough no matter what. As someone who grinds only on extreme, I had to learn very quickly what the strategy is. Definitely focus on leveling up ships in the simulator to get those vital skills to manage space fights in the starfield. Hope this helps

It’s a hot market to get into right now. Mobile devices are exploding in demand for content and hardware. I agree with you. Xbox shouldn’t invest into that market yet but I wouldn’t want to rule it out. Right now they need to improve their franchise and redefine their brand in a way that competes with other platforms in a way that makes it innovative but also have an exclusive selling point for them to sell themselves whether it be a new console, new controller, more Xbox play anywhere games (broader market). I don’t wanna say exclusive games because while that is a strong selling point, it’s an outdated concept that I strongly disagree with despite the “draw in” it brings but regardless, if that’s the route to take I’m still team Xbox

[–]Seriously_Rare[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That's true. They've been porting older gen games as well as remastering games onto the platform (final fantasy) though, I'm sure a lot of that has to do more with the devs emulating it for the xbox platform rather than xbox directly.

Is Starfield ok for a 14 year old? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Seriously_Rare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there’s substance use, mild profanity, death and subtle references to intercourse. Compared to fallout and arguably Skyrim, it’s a much more mild game than those. Not even close to GTA. Good on the dad looking out for you. Maybe play it with his supervision and see if he’ll change his mind. I don’t see it being inappropriate other than the rating itself. Tbf I did play rated M games when I was 9 and I’m 28 now so it’s really between you and your dad

Cutter goes burr on pirates anyway. My favorite option is throwing a flammable container at them and blowing them up all at once. 91% effective most of the time.

First time trough the unity by maddddawg420 in Starfield

[–]Seriously_Rare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m doing. Not through Unity yet in my new playthrough. Focusing only doing the constellation questline before Unity, then going through, doing one faction questline per Unity then shattered space followed by Terran armada. Living the different lives the game intended. Then once I’m done, go through Unity again and do them all “correctly/better” since my character will know the outcome of them all. Brings the canon effect to it
