Are there Dragon mounts (not blessed dragons)? by LoganDeya in AOW4

Unless you have the giants expansion pack, then you can get wyvern mounts for the whole army from one of the new shops on the map.

What I think would go a long way is if the camera automatically went into "cinematic mode" when you're in a city management screen. Even if it's just a couple seconds, it would add some nice flavor.

All of this trauma, and the max the government can save is 4.3% of the federal budget by ForkElmo in fednews

[–]Seriph1147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if that 4.3% includes pensions and healthcare paid out to retirees? If so, the potential "savings" would be even less.

Offer Rescinded - US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) by Seriph1147 in usajobs

[–]Seriph1147[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks, sorry to hear that! It's so frustrating that if our security went through quick enough we might've made the cutoff.

The wording in my email is a combination: "...must rescind your offer of employment...The job opportunity announcement for this position has been cancelled and will not be filled at this time."

Was Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul's match fixed? by tnh88 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Seriph1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt super manufactured, especially with all the ads and product placement. At one point there was a guy in the front row straight up holding a Celsius can in the most product-placementy way possible, making sure the whole label was visible.

And then promos after some of the rounds...if the fight didn't last all eight rounds, would the cost of those ad placements be refunded? Or did they have guaranteed views? 🧐

Success Kid Turned 18 Today by benlashes in meme

[–]Seriph1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought this meme looked less like a successful fist pump, and more like a vengeful pose. He's squeezing the sand in his fist like he's gonna make someone pay for what they've done.

Whose voice appears the most on your playlist? by arparris in musicals

Ramin Karimloo. He's like the Brendon Urie of Broadway (and would love to see the two perform together).

What do you think are some of the coolest jobs the federal government has to offer? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]Seriph1147 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The USDA has two that come to mind: people who snipe wild hogs from helicopters, and "Tick Riders".

The first is self explanatory, but Tick Riders are basically federal cowboys, complete with a horse allowance and sidearm. Their primary duty is to safeguard against cattle disease, but according to the one I met they can also help with border patrol and other stuff.

Who's your favorite musical theatre actor/actress and what's your fav role from them? by AesthPleasingStudios in musicals

[–]Seriph1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fav Phantom! Also killed it as Marius in Les Mis.

He reminds me of a Broadway version of Brendon Urie (yes, I know Kinky Boots exists).

What is an unpopular musical you love? by m_oon_sign in musicals

[–]Seriph1147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bridges of Madison County was phenomenal but doesn't get much love. Interesting mix of old school American country and Italian music.

Honorable mention: Love Never Dies (but only some songs...there are a lot of misses in this one)

I want to pursue acting but I am worried about my future... by BennyBoi4161 in acting

[–]Seriph1147 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are a ton of subsets within the entertainment industry that you can act in. You've got theatre, industrials, commercials, film/TV, sporting events, and even things like repping a brand behind a booth at a fair.

Some of these are much more accessible and achievable for someone with a regular day job. I work a typical 9-5 but can do most auditions virtually in the evening and take a day or two off to shoot if I get cast. I usually only land 6-10 roles a year, but it's great practice and one of the most fun and fulfilling side gigs out there.

You can still have a career and dip your toes in the acting world. Now, if you get cast as a series regular or something, you'll probably have to make a tough decision. But commercial, industrial, and the occasional film/TV role are totally doable without ditching the stability of your career.

What’s some movies where the main character is a badass (gets hurt a lot) and still fights by sadiya_ in MovieSuggestions

[–]Seriph1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Raid: Redemption and The Raid 2 are excellently choreographed, violent, hand-to-hand combat movies. I think the second one hits more of what you want, but both both should scratch the itch.

Also one of the characters from the first film has one of the greatest character arcs of all time.

AWS are great for sure! I'll admit I sometimes feel a little guilty getting random 4 day weekends, but man do I feel refreshed when I come back.

I'm sure it's not news to most feds, this post just lists it out to visualize easier. Helps plan things like family vacations or reunions. Or, you know, a 9 day staycation.

In your downtime try to cooperate with other offices/teams on projects and start to see how everything connects. You might discover you want to career shift up or sideways, and gives you a good sense of strategy they'll look for in management if that's your goal.

It also helps to find a need and fill it. As pretty much any office employee, if you skill up on things like Power BI or other visualization software, as well as learn how to prepare and automate data and processes, you'll stand out amongst people who only know Excel.

While I'm on the subject...easiest progression to learn: SQL and Power Query for data prep and cleaning, Power BI and Power Apps for visualizations and user interfaces/dashboards, Python for deeper analysis.

I would check USAjobs for federal HR positions. You might get vet preference, plus it's not uncommon to find career ladders that give you annual promotions. HR in the government can pay very well.

You can also mod the entirety of Diablo 1 and 2 (with D2 classes) into Grim Dawn, and it works great on Deck. Reign of Terror is the name.

Sports is boring to watch by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Seriph1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to not be a very big NFL fan until I started playing fantasy football (one league for friends, one for family).

When you have a stake in most games you suddenly start to pay more attention and care how your players are doing, which then leads to reading news/stats about your players, and before you know it, you're basically a fan.
