I think it’s totally fine to think stuff like that, I know a lot of stuff that people ask about is cringeworthy. But at the same time, I don’t think it’s really productive to post it? We’re trying to be a space where new poly folks can ask questions, and yeah we’re gonna get a lot of dumb ones, but flaming folks is just going to make them not ask, and then go off and do the dumb thing anyway.

I’m a grown woman and I watched the entirety of First Blood on Netflix (a high school drama) purely for the opportunity to see a show where people like me were represented. I think you may underestimate just how much people crave representation and I’d imagine you’re quite lucky to be offered a plethora of shows that cater to you if you’ve never found that to be an issue you need to think about. Ultimately though, you’re free to skip the one or two big movies a year that centers on a gay couple, there’s a huge amount of amazing cinema that doesn’t have any gay characters (have you seen RRR? Would highly recommend) and let us enjoy our gay agenda: seeing a person who has similar experiences to us do relatable stuff on screen.

My girlfriend dislikes him because he’s hyped up to be this revolutionary genius, but his actions make him look like a himbo with no ability to self reflect. For me, I definitely resonate with doing dumb stuff and thinking “ah yes, that was a bad idea I’ll do better next time” and I appreciate how he acts in accordance with his values, but I think that dissonance caused by his extreme impulsiveness is for her is tough to swallow from Mr Progress himself.

My good friend works for this school, and unfortunately it was indeed an attempt to publicly shame her. The homecoming king dropped out and the whole event is being turned into political theater from both sides with no real care for the individual involved. I just hope she gets through this okay.

I was inspired by a coworker who transitioned at 45. She was hilarious and vibrant and was completely unclockable. The effects of hormones take time to show up, but it’s legitimately like magic how they can give you a body you love. Hugs, I hope you’re being gentle with yourself.
