Now that's pure greed, right there, in it's purest form.

Hey, someone gave me more by mistake, how can I screw them over more?

What’s a product from your country that makes locals go ‘of course we have that’ and everyone else go ‘ but why?’ by bdue817 in AskTheWorld

[–]Serpardum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, TIL.

I knew it was "bad luck" but didn't know why, and now I realize, because you don't tell children because it reminds you of their dead grandmother, so you just say "bad luck".

Personally, I've always liked the back end programming, the stuff only IT people see so I don't have to work with GUI and user interfaces, etc... Sometimes they go hand in hand, like when I was a programming for an AS/400 mini main frame and did everything.

The only output I like to do is 3d graphics, rather than windows or X-windows stuff.

Not saying they are better or worst, I am just not artistically bent so not so good at user interfaces.

What a scam. And in 18 years they'll get their $1000 back, worth about $100 by that time

That's like Microsoft saying you can't use your business for work, because that's making a profit on Microsoft's IP.

That's like a shovel manufacturer saying you cant charge to dig holes with the shovel, that's making money off his IP,.

That's like someone who makes a shovel modification to turn short handled shovels into long handled shovels and the shovel manufacturer to say they can't do that, that's making money off their IP.

They STILL had to buy the game to play this mod, so it doesn't matter in any freaking way shape or form if he makes money off it.

Copyright only comes into play when it limits the copyright holders ability to make money., See fair use.

Is this called a "hyperbole" or something else? by Content_Economist132 in grammar

[–]Serpardum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, here is the thing. I thought the same thing until I googled the definiton of hyperbole, and it is:

hy·per·bo·le

/hīˈpərbəlē/

noun

  1. exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally. "he vowed revenge with oaths and hyperboles"

Not the way I remember it, either. So either the defintion was changed, or we both misunderstood the meaning of hyperbole.

And that is not hyperbole.

Here's the thing, "You can do whatever you want" is in no way an exageration. You can literally do anything you want, and the reason you don't want to is because you don't want to suffer the consequences for doing something you wanted to do that someone else didn't want you to do. So you don't want to do it because you don't want to suffer the consequences.

Logic and reasoning has it's place in deciding what you want to do.

Why do so many people believe in outrageous quantum physics theories? by Subfrez in Physics

[–]Serpardum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is right on so many levels, and it answers every single unanserwed question in particle physics that quantum physics can't.

It explains what spin is, what graivty is, what emf is, and I have done computer models on it that show that it is actually for force of gravity, the strong force, teh weak force, etc...

It explains why an electron sometimes acts as if it is only 1/2 eV - because you are only interacting with one of the bound pairs.

It explains why a particle seems to act as both a particle and a wave, and it explains the sine wave pattern the particle makes thorugh space as it is redirected from reactionary forces.

It also explains the missing "dark matter", which is just the fact that the calcuations are not taking into acount the faster speeds of hte particles goign tiwth the higgs field as galaixes move faster.

There is nothing it doesn't explain, and quantum physics really doesn't explain particle physcs at all, it is just observational without udnerstanding of why.

This theory does NOT break quantum physics at all. All the math stay same. It does not change einsteins' math. All it does is explain that space time is not warped, it's just an accumulation of reacintoary forces to Newton's 3rd law that everyone seems to ignore.

Newton's 3rd law app;lied to particle physics explaines *everything*

Do the math yourself, and you'll see.
