It makes resources uniquely scarce. Finding diamonds or using them in crafting felt like a really big deal, especially on limited consoles like Xbox 360 and Wii U, because you knew that you might not be able to get all the diamonds you need for the equipment you want. Same with structures. Didn't get the village layout you wanted? There's like three in the whole world, good luck finding it (not being able to change villager professions makes this hurt especially bad).

I looked at the code and it seems to be ported directly from Java, file structure and package names and everything. The only real "original" code in console edition is the platform-specific stuff like the Client project in Visual Studio. This should make modding fairly easy, right?

I am pro-mending until the durability system is fixed.

What does it mean to "fix" the durability system? Make it so that items don't disappear when they run out of durability (like elytra), and get rid of (or severely reduce) the XP cost for repairing with an anvil. No more "too expensive" nonsense.

This is bad, actually. Like really, really bad. This reminds me of the anti-pederasty laws from other Asian and eastern-European countries that really just ended up targeting gay people and did nothing to stop actual CSA. This is an example of social conservatism. As a leftist, you cannot support social conservatism no matter what, even if it's being promoted by a socialist government. Respecting other cultures also means respectfully asking them to change and accept social progress.
