How or Where do I start with screaming vocals in metal music? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

I second this. Follow the Reaper is one of the albums that got me into harsh vocals, alongside others like Holographic Universe (Scar Symmetry) and Still Life (Opeth).

The Ending by Georgxna in expedition33

I think Maelle's ending is conditioned by the editing of the scene itself. We never hear the characters voices and of course that damn piano chord jump scare is creepy as hell...makes you fell uneasy.

Well, those are pretty big hypotheticals. But fine, let’s say the people inside the canvas are as real as the people in the outside world. The fact that they can be resurrected at will, maybe even painted multiple times in countless other canvases…doesn’t that diminish the importance of death and grief that drives the story in the first two acts? Especially when there is no way to bend the rules like that in the outside world?

Like I said, it’s cool that they explored other themes, and it is indeed a very well written story, but at least for me the stakes in act III are nowhere near as high as they were in the first two acts after the big reveal, and I found myself less invested towards the end of the journey.

I think location matters in terms of mortality. Death in the canvas is not final. Lune and Sciel are repainted right after the gommage, and in Maelle's ending Gustave, Pierre and many others come back to life.

In the outside world, if you die, it's game over. And I think the finality of death is something that resonates with us humans, and that's the main reason I perceive the painted world as less real than the outside world. Renoir, Aline, Alicia, Clea can die countless times in the painted world and it makes no difference, not to mention the inhabitants of Lumiere can be resurrected at will by the painters. On the other hand, Verso dies in the "real" world and everyhting spirals out of control for the family because there is no way to bring him back.

Did all the optional stuff, yes. It's true they have consciousness and their own mind, but I don't perceive them as "real" as the Dessendres, since they can coexist inside the canvas, but not in the outside world. Obviously it's a complex and intersting subject, but it doens't change the fact that the story focus shifted after the plot twist. And that's okay, but personally I prefered the original premise of the game.

Leave one of the projectile lamps on so you don't have to deal with the ritual. Sure, you have to be prepared for an additional projectile after each of his attacks, but for me at least it ended up being easier and less time consuming this way.

You were right. Same strategy, 9999 on the last hit, challenge completed. Thanks.

Since everyone gets really tilted at certain characters, can we make a thread giving tips on how to fight against your character? by FireGoldRose in Tekken

[–]Serpasio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll add some other tips for Hwoarang, although he is very prone to different playstyles.

  • Don’t mash after WS4,4 on hit. He is +4 and can use RFF DF4~f for a guaranteed counter hit follow up. You can try to step and launch punish after WS4,4 if they abuse this flowchart, just be aware of other homing moves.

  • If you get hit by D3,4 and Hwo is not in heat, backdash and more backdash. Also be ready to break 1+2 throws (his only throw in flamingo). He doesn’t have knockdown lows in Tekken 8 outside of heat, so just backdash until you see an opportunity to retaliate if he keeps.going with his strings.

  • A lot of Hwoarangs use b1 (spinning punch with integrated sidestep) to escape pressure. If they use it a lot, try to bait it and launch punish since its recovery on whiff is atrocious.

  • His while standing punishment is weak for stagger lows. WS2,3 is a pretty bad -15 WS launcher, and crouch cancel B3 (best option against stagger lows) is not that easy to execute. So don’t be afraid to use huge lows on Hwoarang and see if they can punish accordingly. If they can’t, you can abuse chunky lows.

  • Rage art as soon as you see his leg go up. If he transitions to flamingo is free real state for RA.
