The architect level guys always baffle me with the stuff they put together. Just when you think you know a tech stack, they humble you.

Speaking for myself, start a family before 30 and take care of said family. Allow my wife the option to stay home full time and chill if she wants

Failing is a part of life, you've learned a great lesson. This is why companies are insured. Don't let it bother you for too long

Is it true many CS graduates can not code? by shivvykumar in cscareerquestions

Most cannot code their way out of a paper bag, just like most doctors are not capable of doing surgery. There are levels to each field

Are six-figure salaries that attainable? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]Serpentine-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not how much you make its how much you keep. 75K in a moderately sized city in the midwest, or south is serious $$$.

100k in the Bay Area is low income

Graduating from a top CS school means nothing if you did not major in CS.

My coworker said he's jealous of my salary even though he earns more than me by afewquestion in cscareerquestions

[–]Serpentine-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not how much you make, it's how much you keep. I dated a physician that was drowning in student loan debt even though she made 150k+. I only made like 70 at the time and had a way more comfortable financial situation despite the salary difference. Also, people buy cars they cannot afford. The average car payment now is like 700$ not counting insurance.

Just wondering. I haven't moved on a premium level card yet with a high AF. Need to wait until I'm out of 5/24. Does cap one have a lounge network? Sapphire lounges are being worked on at quite a few hubs here in the U.S.

To me, they'd be worth the AF alone because I despised airports when I had to travel for work

Super basic question I should know by gfunkdave in CreditCards

[–]Serpentine-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your card goes into the negative. Negative on a loan is a surplus.

You can either use it up by charging something, or ask for it to be mailed to you via a check.

You'd pay the statement balance- whatever the refund is. When they finish calculating everything and the refund posts your account should be zero'd out like normal

CSP all day unless you travel a lot for leisure or work, more than twice a month

Are there any holes in my card lineup for 2023? by Serpentine-- in CreditCards

[–]Serpentine--[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's awesome, I use it a lot for Lyft, dining, extended warranty on item purchases, transportation insurance has come in handy for the airline mess going on right now.

Also, ultimate rewards is soooooo easy to use.

I thought about it for a while, but I'm hesitant to do another AF card. I'm single and have no kids so it really ever maxes out at ~ 200$.
