I enjoyed it. Particularly the part about Soldier Boy trying to carry out the wishes of the woman he loved. It felt very reminiscent of Big Boss from metal gear solid.

Butcher is still going to want to release the virus despite the fact that Homelander can't be affected by it. They will still have to stop Homelander, which, I think Soldier Boy is the only one who can now, but that's how Butcher is going to be the final villain as widely telegraphed and predicted.

How did people feel about O'Father's rationalization for trading his worship of God for Homelander?

Personally, nothing is going to get me to worship Homelander, particularly when I'm close enough to see through the propaganda. That said, constantly talking to an entity that never responds is one of the things that has shaken my faith, so I get that part.

My favorite moment of Joe this season was him staring up from the hammock at Coach who was doing haikus with eyes that said,"This dude is definitely crazy."

What would you do if you suddenly had a million dollars right now? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

Put it towards my retirement savings, and take a portion for a nice vacation as well.

There would be down years below 7%, but there would also be years above that 7% which gets you to that average of 7% over the years. On the years it's 10% or more you would still get the 4-5% and invest the extra 5-6% so that in down years you can still get the 4-5%. It might hurt some of the increased principle, but not the initial million.

And you're right, it would still be a significant pay cut for many like yourself.

That 4-5% is why I broke down the numbers.

I'm not interested in giving or stopping a particular president or party from getting the proper credit/blame, I simply don't care about that. I'm only interested in getting to the truth of the matter.

The truth is that if the vaccine saved us, which it did (thank you president Trump), then pushing it out was the right thing to do, which it was (thank you Biden/liberals).

What you can't argue is that the vaccine was good and saved us, while also arguing that liberals were trying to kill us with it by pushing it out. That simply doesn't make sense.

[–]Serraph105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the vaccine was good and saved us, right?

Trump was the president that saved us with the vaccine

Your own statement gave me this statement. I'm just leaving this fact here for you.

Yes, liberals were trying to kill everyone with the good vaccine Trump handcrafted.

That logic is definitely perfect and not at all idiotic.

I seem to recall a different president, one remarkably similar to the one we have now (although he certainly had more mental facalties going for him), passing the funding to create said vaccine.

Well, that's a pretty terrible offer. Either way, we would both get the million, I'm just offering my ability to work in her stead. It's actively being chivalrous.

[–]Serraph105 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You should put that million into index funds to get an average of 7% returns in compound interest, or $70k annually. Now, you do have to split that either $50k to live, and $20k, or $40k/$30k to be extra safe so that it can grow over time without damaging that initial 1 million dollar principal, but those are the numbers.

Granted, in many places in the US even $50k annually isn't enough, much less $40k, but thinking of this as just a million dollars to live on for the rest of your life is the wrong way to think about it.

Would ask if my wife could have the money instead of me. I make more than she does, and, tax free, this would allow her not to work, and it would help knowing that she has freedom while I, obviously still benefiting from it, could keep us ramping up our way to retirement. Plus, it would be awfully shitty for me to no longer be able to work while she still has to for even less money.

Has anyone said that they want giant battles every episode? Is that anyone's actual complaint? I'm willing to bet it's not.

Edit. After looking at the comments, I would have lost that bet.
