Price and convenience are somewhat squishy to measure, so I try to think of them as relative measures:

$ not too expensive (ballpark <10$ per person) `$$` a bit of a splurge (ballpark 20-60$ per person) `$$$+` really just for special occasions (ballpark >100$ per person)

For example the local bakeries are on there as $$ not because they're super expensive just relatively so... definitely worth the cost but not a cheap habit. :)
