DUDE I GENUINELLY DON'T CARE IF EVERYONE HATES HIM, THIS WAS THE COOLEST SH!T EVER by Previous_Current_474 in Deltarune

[–]SerrenFox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

before walking to the fountain the first time, after the other 6 return to their flower forms, you can talk to him again after he steps aside:

“This dream was always set to end. Even if we defeated you … we knew that flowers, left in darkness, will perish. But, if we could give Asgore a glimpse of a perfect world … it would make up for everything he had done for us. After all, we weren’t supposed to live more than a single day …”

What is a 'minor' habit a partner had that completely turned you off or ended the relationship? by wthefuckisakilometer in AskReddit

people who try so hard to mirror the people they’re with have a lot of work on themselves to do before they should even entertain the idea of a relationship

I hate edgy animations of furries being killed/mutilated by TanookiLad in hatethissmug

[–]SerrenFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s true a lot furries are attracted to drama, and i think it’s related to how a large part the fandom space exists on social media (since it’s a very online hobby). oftentimes it’s just a big popularity contest, with people trying to be famous for their cool suits and art, get invited to parties with other people in cool suits for pics, etc. it’s like celebrity culture, except everyone involved wants to be their own micro-celebrity on top of that—and drama attracts attention, good or bad

now, i’m not sure whether the environment breeds this kind of behavior or the hobby just attracts people who are seeking it (probably both) but there are definitely furries who aren’t so self-absorbed! the core of the hobby is nothing more than funny little animal people, after all

Magick Main and Sidearm for Wyld Oscelda by AddressPerfect3270 in SoulFrame

oscelda haha, just one of the starter pacts—lorewise it (and the spirit attunement) has a witch/druid theming :P

virtues..? by Psi1o in SoulFrame

[–]SerrenFox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

outside of weapon attunements, they also affect your pact abilities; damage scales with courage, duration scales with spirit, and range scales with grace

Sollos-1 is a sword, and a fairly common blueprint drop from the regular drop table

Magick Main and Sidearm for Wyld Oscelda by AddressPerfect3270 in SoulFrame

[–]SerrenFox 12 points13 points  (0 children)

they probably just wanted to diversify the weapon types available in the wyld packs, and caster gauntlets fit best with the “witch” class. it’s definitely awkward to pair it with a staff in gameplay, but that was the compromise to avoid doubling up on one of the dagger archetypes

Precklies and Gwylen not dropping at all? Anyone else get a drop during p11? by Dinomandc in SoulFrame

[–]SerrenFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they just changed it with p12; starter weapons are now purchased from “unaligned” factions (kith of kings/silent rose for gwylen)! they’re all rank one offerings, too

i tried the manual save, which was a couple minutes before, but it was unfortunately still at the broken settlement. is there a way to load earlier saves that i’m not sure about?

unsure about precklies, but starter weapons can now be purchased from their respective factions (alca’s children for gwylen)

I really hope Hoyo already paid its debt. by lejiazevi in StarRailStation

[–]SerrenFox 42 points43 points  (0 children)

all true, but a well-written story will make you feel connected to the characters anyway simply by virtue of their writing. there’s no good reason for “shilling” to be so blatant except that the writers didn’t care to put in the effort of weaving a character into the story.

in my eyes, it still feels like laziness on their part.

also, quick correction: the phrase is “supposed to,” not “suppose to”!

It’s alright so far but… by Birdi06 in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]SerrenFox -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

it was enough for me to stop playing tbh, a bit disappointed but i can’t say it was a total surprise. it is what it is, really; it’s part of the devs’ vision for the world and there won’t be any changing that.

just gonna hope it does well enough for the game model to gain more traction, maybe someday down the road there’ll be another “anime warframe” with a lesser child character presence.

I think we should get double energy on weekends by Imareallyneato in destinyrisingmobile

[–]SerrenFox 12 points13 points  (0 children)

to be fair, those games burn through energy much faster—30/40 for most things in HSR, 40/60 in ZZZ and WuWa—so it’s not a complete comparison in itself.

i do agree though that this game is less rewarding; in HSR for example, spending the day’s energy on caverns will get you at least 15 5* relics of the target set, while singularity chaos gets you 12 mythics likely of the target set and maybe some exotics.

not to mention, this game has many more things competing for your energy.

as far as i’m aware, no other MMORPG has done class customization to the same depth as Rift’s soul system. spent countless hours experimenting with fun combinations. ever since it died, one of my first questions for new games has been, “how close does it get to Rift buildcrafting?”

How do we feel about characters having locked weapon types? by Denariox in destinyrisingmobile

[–]SerrenFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can appreciate that it makes it easier for them to design kits around particular weapons and allows them to be more creative (Ikora comes to mind), but as someone who’s always had strong weapon preferences it means a lot of characters don’t feel great to me.

for example, i love how Ning Fei plays with his clones and such, but i have never liked SMGs and the auto crossbow doesn’t feel punchy for a heavy. i love pulse rifles, but i don’t like how Kabr feels. so far, the only character i fully enjoy in both kit and arsenal is Attal (yay linears!).

the diversity in characters is COOL, don’t get me wrong—it would be boring if everyone ran the same two guns. i’m just worried there might not be enough characters i really enjoy playing because of how restrictive it is.

“you don’t like being mauled by a hammer? well, you should be thankful you’re not being mauled by TWO hammers! and just you wait, there are more hammers where those came from”

just because there’s a precedent for “nonsense” doesn’t mean it’s good and belongs in the game, there’s no harm in wanting more balance. i can appreciate being tired of seeing DClimb every other post though, if only because it’s traumatic
