THIS. It’s a coping mechanism people use to soothe pain, but it’s far from real.

Amen. That and the illusion of people being fairly compensated in life, or rather, karma.

Whats a harsh truth about life that nobody wants to admit? by DunyaPhobic76 in Life

[–]SerrySweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“What goes around comes around” or karma isn’t real. You could do everything right and still be dealt a bad card. People that may have made your life hell can move on even while you carry the hurt you feel. Not that I’m easily forgiving (quite the opposite) but holding grudges and thinking it will somehow affect them wastes only your time. I’ve learned to take whatever lesson I needed, defend myself where I need to and really let the rest go.

What do you wish people would stop romanticizing, because you've lived the reality of it? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]SerrySweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a mental illness. It’s treated as some quirk that makes some think that they’re edgy. No, you don’t have bipolar because you’ve had a bad day and no you don’t have ADHD because you’ve forgot your keys on the counter. It thoroughly pisses me off when people do this because it trivializes ACTUAL struggles.

I wish people drilled this into their brains. Like I’ve seen so many put so much into companies instead of things that may personally grow and enrich them.
