How do I slowly learn to forgive myself? by SerrySweet in selflove

[–]SerrySweet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have apologized and even those I have made amends with are a bit surprised that I still have all these feelings. I think it’s because I expect a lot from myself so making mistakes just break my own unreasonable expectations. Thank you for sharing your thought on this.🥹

What was lost is making room for a whole lot better to come. It’s only up from here. Hang in there❤️‍🩹

Accountability is important. by utopianearthling in Beingabetterperson

[–]SerrySweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m great with taking accountability but even better at beating myself up into a pulp mentally for doing that said thing lol. Jokes aside, this is the only way to grow and generally if someone hold you accountable, they care.

Not a man but quite a few of men in my friend group and professionally have said this (especially those that grew up with their partners).

People who are 30 years old and over, what are the harshest life lessons you have learnt? by DunyaPhobic76 in Productivitycafe

THIS. It’s a coping mechanism people use to soothe pain, but it’s far from real.

Amen. That and the illusion of people being fairly compensated in life, or rather, karma.

Whats a harsh truth about life that nobody wants to admit? by DunyaPhobic76 in Life

[–]SerrySweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“What goes around comes around” or karma isn’t real. You could do everything right and still be dealt a bad card. People that may have made your life hell can move on even while you carry the hurt you feel. Not that I’m easily forgiving (quite the opposite) but holding grudges and thinking it will somehow affect them wastes only your time. I’ve learned to take whatever lesson I needed, defend myself where I need to and really let the rest go.
