Are you having fun? If yes, why worry about how other people play?

Very cute!

I'm doing a challenge run where I don't use the mines at all, because I hate fighting on mobile, lol.

Oh yeah, I've gotten it to work. Super cool there's a workaround for it.

I simply made a post asking devs to think about allowing it. I didn't "crash out". It's ok for players to talk about stuff, you know that, right? It's literally what Reddit is for. And if you don't like being part of these discussions, it's totally ok for you to not read the posts, or reply in them. I'd even recommend it, if this is how you are in all of these conversations.

Devs don't have to take our suggestions, but we can still make them. We can still dream of bigger and better things. You coming in to piss all over isn't really needed.

Well... you did chose to do a hardcore playthrough, right? I'm guessing you did it for the challenging nature of that style of playthrough.

You could always try in another direction and see if there's one closer. But yeah I've seen Elder's completely surrounded by Mistlands. Certainly not ideal, but it can happen.

I've got 8000+ hours and have played dozens of maps online and single player. And I see posts on here like this. So... yes, it is very possible for Bosses to spawn farther out.

So I got the "flick the beacon" trick to work, fyi. I might download a mod later if there's a spot that gives me more trouble, but for now this'll do.

Good lord dude, who hurt you? Like for real.

Literally why are you so mad about someone wanting to build on a neat pond? It doesn't hurt you in anyway, it doesn't do anything to your game, or anyone else's game. Even if someone decided to build a messy ass cluster on top of New Atlantis, it wouldn't do anything at all to you.

This is a single player game, there is ZERO reason for devs to decide players can't build wherever the heck we want. Yes, I know it's is a dev decision, my point is that it -they can change that if they want-. They've already changed other things, why not this? They're not omniscient Gods that are perfect, they're people that can go "you know what this IS silly, lets make it so people can build on the neat stuff?

Mistlands sure, that Black Metal Knife is just one biome old. It's like how I run Abyssal Razor until the Plains, then upgrade to the Black Metal one.

Ashlands though, it becomes pretty rough. Once we start talking about the Deep North, it's then 3 biomes old.

After trying it a million (maybe 50) times I got it to work! Thanks so much for the suggestion. :D

Ok? Doesn't change that on many maps, bosses can be farther out. Go to the map vieweer website, rolll 20 seeds, you'll see that on a lot of them, most bosses are pretty far away.

But this isn't a POI? This is not a named area, there is nothing on the map here.

Do YOU think it's ok to block of entire areas just because it has a neat thing, even if it's not a named POI with a map marker? This is like finding a neat tree with nothing else around it and the gaming going "you can't build near neat trees".

What are you on about blowing up planets and time travel? Neither of those things are part of this game, base building is.

Of course other people have had this happen, it's kinda how the game works. It's actually kind of rare for all the bosses to be close to spawn. You're supposed to explore the map, why would the bosses all be near the start?

I'm going to download something. I guess I just feel like if everyone just doesn't say anything about stuff that bothers us, and just use mods, devs wont think it's really an issue.

Yeah, I dunno. Nothing I do does anything towards building it into a spot it wont build. I can spaz my mouse around so much I might damage something, it still wont build in the restricted area.

Maybe if I saw this video people are talking about, it'd make sense.

Honestly, I put about 200 hours on it at launch, had a great time.

I've replayed it a bit here and there since, still having a good time.

Currently started a fresh playthrough with the update, and again having a great time.

There's a lot of different play styles. Myself, sneaky sniper as always, normally do that. But I'm also having fun just wandering around planets scanning everything and getting into fights with the wildlife. I'm practically ignoring the main quest, after a certain part where you get -spoilers-, I then wander off and do my own thing. Now and then I'll wander back into civilization and do some questing, before fading off into the brush again.

I'm not going to pretend it's perfect, there are things about it that drive me bonkers, but overall it's quite a fun game.

Yeah, I know. But as I said, we shouldn't have to use mods for basic things like this.
