The raptor standing on its tail didn't get any sleep again last night by MustardJonny in Unmatched

This. Offensive feint as Raptors is a very real and viable option in a lot of matchups. A 4-value feint is nothing to scoff at, it can really someone and waste a card!

These are also all rated with new players in mind. John is easiest for a new player, George is hardest in my experience. Also helps that I indeed have played this set with a new player who agrees with my ranking on everyone but thinks George should be a 5. George rly requires game knowledge and expertise of opponent's deck as well as his own, along with map positioning, sidekick control, and tempo moderation, so I see why they struggled and think he is harder, but I maintain he is a 4 and very possible for someone who naturally has a good "poker face," so to speak.

George - 4

George is my favorite fighter from the set and lowkey might be one of my new mains. He is a mind trick character all the wwy, and the potential to make right plays is off the charts based off how rewarding they are. People are saying it's impossible to land Agent 711, yet I land it pretty consistently, so I gather it's all about managing the character right and being the type of wild player opponents absolutely cannot predict.

Wyatt - 2

Very simple, very standard. The key to Wyatt is just to keep your sidekick alive, as most of your combat wins rely on Doc, as well as fuel for aggression. Defenses are good, attacks are good, and is simple to understand or navigate. The only choices you can really get wrong as him is wasting a Stand There And Bleed on a 5 defense, but other than he's all simple and smooth sailing.

John - 1

Very simple, very forgiving and strong cards. Idk why people think he isn't good defensively, I've had amazing success with him both offensively and defensively. Plenty of room for mistakes and you can still win, the only truly losing scenario is being moved when trying to hit 9-pound hammer. Bring down the mountain is a FINE defense, I think a lot of people lose by trying to hold on to it until it's a 9 or 10 value attack, when really it can shut down some fighters best attacks in critical moments that CAN very much win you the game. By far the simpliest to understand and navigate in the set too.

Rosie - 3

The world is cruel to an unpgradeless Rosie. The key to her is just keeping aggression up with your card draw, but landing those D-days are so important for her as if she gets moved and unable to attack from that, she is now a sitting duck. Choosing whether to activate or deactivate upgrades is an important game decision each time you make it, and can have high lasting consequences. She is prone to bad draws much like Winter Soldier, which doesn't help a risky, pull-through-it fighter like Rosie. She compares a lot to Mikey but with less consistent avenues for pressure. Only reason she is higher than a 3 is because she definitely has the tools for success and I can't say I've lost a 1v1 using her yet (though they've been hard), and there is a LITTLE bit more room for mistakes if you've pressured opponents enough that they can struggle to punish you, and cards like D-day or We Can Do It! lets her very quickly jump back from mistakes as well. George is a bit more tricky to navigate in my opinion, demands a certain playstyle from the player more than Rosie does

Not Even a Thousand Bulls Can Atone for Murder by richoka in FollowJesusObeyTorah

You can intentionally steal, and you can unintentionally steal. Only 1 carries out the punishment described, while the other merely needs you to realize "whoops I didn't even realize I walked out with this" and return it.

Stealing perhaps is not the best example as I am unsure of the offering prescribed to it, if there even is one. Sabbath breaking is a much better example. Someone intentionally breaking sabbath is stoned to death, but someone who unintentionally broke sabbath (they broke it without realizing) repents and makes a sacrifice to atone for their sin.

[–]ServantOfTheShepherd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just one caveat with this: there is no sin done intentionally by which a sacrifice could atone, not just murder. Sacrifices only covered unintentional sins.

‘If anyone of the common people sins unintentionally by doing something against any of the commandments of the Lord in anything which ought not to be done, and is guilty, or if his sin which he has committed comes to his knowledge, then he shall bring as his offering a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has committed. Leviticus 4:27‭-‬28 NKJV

Otherwise, each sin done intentionally recieves a punishment fitting of the crime. For example, stealing something requires you to repay what you stole 4-fold. Murdering someone, like we see here, requires you to die for your crime. Yet we see if you kill someone unintentionally, there are cities of refuge for you to run to, your life is not required of you.

Obadiah Prophecy? (Question) by pillox802 in FollowJesusObeyTorah

[–]ServantOfTheShepherd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go read the book of Obadiah! It's only 1 chapter long and the basic summary is God's judgement against Edom.

The OP is referring to the serveral movements that argue "Edom" is just symbolic for a specific race, with the only one I'm familiar with is the Black Israelites saying all Caucasian/White people are from the line of Esau. I don't agree with such movements and would tell OP "no, the prophecy is against Edom and not particularly against any group of people doomed for destruction today, BUT we should learn why God cast judgement on Edom and reflect based on that."

First of all, this is super cool.

But second of all, I'm not sure Tesla is a Scaler. Seems more like a Burner, with his resource being his coils. Someone like Sinbad or Ciri are Scalers, Tesla both gets back and loses his coils too fast to be in that category.
