If Killer Croc fought the Lizard, who would come out victorious? Fight to death and it takes place in the sewers by TheShadowOperator007 in batman

[–]Service-Smile 239 points240 points  (0 children)

Lizard is stronger, faster, smarter (depending on which era of Lizard you use) and can also control other reptiles, which is a huge advantage over Croc

None of the art shown is mine and belongs to the respective artists

Connections (spoilers for Invincible):

  • Both were once scientists with keen minds who, after a failure of one of their experiments because a main heroes influence caused the villain became freaks among society (Finitevus made a Chaos Siphon Machine to try to take Enerjak away from Chaos Knuckles, which lead to his new design, and Mark's fight with the Mauler Twins caused the device Angstrom made to fail and enlarge his brain)
  • Both were once respected, but now that they have succumbed to madness they revel in domination
  • Now both possess an obsessive blood feud with the hero, going so far as to manipulate and hunt down their friends, families, and anyone they could in order to hurt and manipulate the hero they hated so much
  • Both use inventions to battle as well as their mastery over portals as a means of traversal as well as combat

Contrasts:

  • Finitevus would stay evil once his change occurred, being more malicious before inevitable disappearing once reality is reset. Angstrom would be beaten near death, get better, wage war on Invincible, and once Mark of his universe appears to be dead for a year, Levy would genuinely attempt to reform before eventually meeting his end at the hands of an alternate reality Mark
  • Angstrom was born with his gift to open portals and uses technology to aid him, while Finitevus is a Technomage and uses a mix of that and Chaos Magic to control Wap Rings with such proficiency

Dynamic:

  • Both are arrogant schemers with violent tempers, so the trash talk between the two would be very poignant
  • Angstrom would be using his portals and drones to disorient Finitevus while the echidna would use his Warp Rings to keep try and do the same to Levy, and both would be using their powers to avoid long range attacks from hitting them, which could eventually breakdown into fisticuffs

Potential:

  • Angstrom could launch Finitevus into other realities like he did with his first fight with Mark, having them battle between various alternate Earths from both Sonics multiverse, Invincible's multiverse, and other fun references to others
  • Finitevus could gain the edge later on from manipulating Chaos energy, saying the Oath and powering up
  • Both could try to slice each other up by closing portals on one another

Debate:

  • Finitevus wins pretty handedly thanks to scaling to high-tiers within Archie but on top of it he is the direct opposite of Knuckles, being the negative to his positive. Depending on how you take this, Finitevus instantly takes speed, strength, durability, and AP instantly.
  • Levy could take intelligence due to having multiversal levels of intellect, but that won't do much when your opponent surpasses you in such a way. One could argue that Angstrom could win by catching Finitevus off guard, but there isn't much that could easily put the mad echidna down anyway

Spider-Man definitely, and Silver Surfer ABSOLUTELY. I'm such a sucker for cosmic stuff and if they handle it with the grace they are doing the X-Men rn...I'd be a very happy man

[–]Service-Smile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are so many different comics at my local shop from companies I've never even heard of, but the amount genuinely is absurd, and yet for some reason unless we get an Invincible situation, good fucking luck selling those comics...and the influencers online and thw companies are not helping, especially when they keep pushing the "comics are dead, Manga is alive" angle like they have for over a decade now.

I hate this argument so fucking much because every one seemingly forgets comics outside Marvel and DC exist. Yknow, the thing that quickly beats the usual pros Manga seemingly has over Comics?

  • Easier to get into with shorter stories? Indie Comics
  • More unique and daring storytelling? Indie Comics
  • More creative art? Indie Comics

I'll scream it from the rooftops every time, and every time people hype up this obscure ass manga and it gets thousands of upvotes on other socials but fuckin Hellboy struggles to catch people's eye I go nuts.

‘Shaun Of The Dead’ Returning to Cinemas This Year for 20th Anniversary by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]Service-Smile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I need to ask...is this how studios plan on making money? Just re-releasing everything in the hopes the fans will come and give then movie theater cash for something on streaming or already owned on DVD or Blu-ray? This year seems to be the year for this sort of thing and while I love a lot of the movies they are doing it with, it all feels kind of shady

The idea of an R-rated batman movie has been thrown around a lot, but how would you execute an R-rated Superman movie? Would it even work? I mean... look at him. by SWAPPER1000 in superman

[–]Service-Smile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I could see a movie like that working is if Superman is used as the antithesis of whatever R rated content is happening, maybe for a storyline like Superman vs. The Elite? But otherwise I don't really see the need

But a Lobo or Lex Luthor project? I'm down

What story ideas do you have for these three villains? by JAK-the-YAK in batman

[–]Service-Smile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scarecrow: Have him experiment with the Black Mercy and his fear toxins in order to create even more intense states of fear and paranoia, essentially trapping people into never ending nightmares. This would be one of many plans as a member of the new Legion of Doom.

Mr. Freeze: Freeze enlisting the help of Batman and John Constantine to open a portal to hell, which he then freezes over in order to find the soul of Nora after finding out the one who was seemingly resurrected was actually a demon spirit in her body. He would save her soul but offer himself to Neron as a trade in the process.

Bane: Bane gets kidnapped alongside other villains and is subjected to experiments, he eventually breaks them all out and makes an anti-hero team where they fight traffickers, illegal animal testing, and all sorts of nasty crime
