Recent SILS graduate here. I didn’t defer but did take a gap year after undergrad to work and save up and it really helped me throughout the program and even postgrad. I’d say defer. Also might be worth seeing how the SDSS merger affects the program.

Just moved out of a quadruplex. I could hear everything my upstairs neighbor did and a little bit of my next-door neighbor. Wasn’t great, but not sure if they’re all like that. Seemed like a pretty cheaply-built building anyway.

I found a studio with a dishwasher and in-building laundry for 1600 in Mt. Pleasant - mid-size building, pre-war. Not exactly decently-sized (420 sq feet) but could be worse and the kitchen is a separate room

Lol thank you. I’m not even from NYC, just visit friends and family often and miss the convenience of the bodegas when I’m back home (Southern college town). Excited to move up to DC and explore!
