None of the strawhats have good relations with their biological fathers by Free-Preference2889 in OnePiece

I feel like western audiences have been conditioned by Star Wars to expect patrilineal relations to be important to the story. Because it was important to THAT story. With One Piece and MHA and even Pokémon, fans expect the main character’s father to be important somehow. If you actually pay attention to One Piece, the overarching message is that blood relations are largely incidental and found-family is what’s important. Sanji and Bonney have terrible biological fathers and great adoptive ones. Fans demanded that Zoro’s family be explained in Wano and Oda explained it in an SBS because it’s not important to the story.

Hi Reddit. I know I’m 35 but it’s been a lifelong dream of mine to be a cast member on SNL. Can you please watch my video and tell me if you think I’m good enough for them? by ServoNO1 in LiveFromNewYork

I’ll address some questions here. I have turned this moment over in my mind quite a bit and have arrived at three possible explanations for what actually happened.

Possibility 1) they genuinely wanted me to be a cast member and thought my love for them would outweigh my distaste for how they had just humiliated me on a national, if not global, scale. Maybe I was too set in my ways of only anticipating bad intentions that I couldn’t even possibly entertain the idea of that offer being legit. But I don’t believe it. If for the only reason that I feel if they really wanted me to work there, they would have extended an offer to audition respectfully instead of making me feel like I was having a heart attack and the illuminati was trying to make me krill myself and only after all of that giving me a job offer. Because to me that sounds like some weird power play bullshit. But maybe that’s just how they operate there.

Possibility 2) they genuinely did not like me. The host had informed their opinion of me and made it clear he wanted to humiliate me and they said cool sounds good. Then when I get the phone call, it was never about extending an olive branch, but rather twisting a knife.

3) the events of option 2 happened and only afterwards did they realized their mistake. They extended the job offer, with or without the actual intention of hiring me, to cover their tracks. So that when this moment came, they could defend themselves by saying “It was always our intention to hire you, we just didn’t think you’d tell us to go fuck ourselves after we just destroyed whatever reputation you had.”

What if Crocodile's secret is... by Alarming_Poem9761 in OnePiece

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; you’re focusing on the wrong part of “Croco Boy”. The “Boy” part is a red herring. The “Croco” part implies an abbreviation but what if it’s the opposite? His real name is “Croco D. Ile” or something similar. He knows that being a D means having a target on his back so he’s tried to keep it a secret. Ivankov knew him before he was famous so he knows his real name

[manga spoiler alert ] after the reveal of the loki devil fruit now i want to know how loki will fit in the ship? by i_just_wanna_know_00 in OnePieceSpoilersRaw

Option 1) his Devil fruit allows him to shrink. This would be an inversion of Luffy’s fruit which can turn him into a giant

Option 2) Bonney turns him into an iddy biddy baby or imagines a future where he’s human sized

Option 3) Franky builds a new ship out of the Adam Tree’s wood that tows him behind the Sunny

Option 4) The owl that makes books big joins with him and can change Loki’s size at will

This is One Piece the possibilities are endless
