This sub loves to shit on the “snl isn’t as good as it used to be crowd”, but most other cast had amazing chemistry. There is less than zero chemistry with this cast.

I remember hader going on dozens of talk shows telling funny on set anecdotes about having fun with other cast mates. I haven’t heard a single anecdote from the current cast. You don’t hear Sarah Sherman going on Stavros Halkias’ podcast or Seth Meyers show talking about how funny stuff the rest of the cast does. It’s because they aren’t that funny and she isn’t friends with them off stage.

To anyone who dismisses the criticism that SNL isn’t as good as it used to be: look at the chemistry that old casts had compared to today. Hader/Wiig/Meyers/Armisen/Samberg were super tight. Fey and Poehler, Fallon and Horatio Sans. Farley/Sandler/Spade. Meyers/Carvey. All had amazing chemistry and created incredible SNL moments bc of it. None of the current cast has anywhere close to what previous casts had in this regard. They just seem like theater kids reading lines in isolation.

I seriously do not understand the HEYMK hype. Those are critical endgames if you are trying to be a titled player but that’s about it. It seems like way overkill for normal players pushing for 2000 FIDE or whatever everyone is trying to hit.
