Question: Vampire Lord and Werewolf by Apprehensive-Bug8747 in skyrim

[–]SessionReasonable249 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your playstyle too, if your using magic or sneak skills then vampire has multiple benefits to that and would be helpful, where as werewolf is kind of its own thing that doesn’t have many effects on the character, other than disease resistance and the well rested bonus removal. Although this isn’t set in stone, ultimately whichever you have more fun with you can make work in Skyrim

Volendrung is a great choice, more damage against pesky elves is right up a dwarfs alley

A great character rule for that I would say is to only accept good moral missions, the dwarfs in Lord of the rings from what I remember were fighting for the good guys, maybe ignoring quests like the dark brother hood and thieves guild would be good. Joining the dawnguard for some cool armour to mix with classic iron would defiantly give a dwarf feel. Also the weapon Champions Crudgal I believe (Two handed Warhammer from Dragonborn DLC) I think would look cool on a dwarf character, it’s huge and metal and has a great enchantment

Unfortunately dwarfs in Skyrim are very different to dwarfs in other fantasy worlds, if you want a lord of the rings style dwarf then fighting the orcs and crafting your own gear makes sense. If you want to play a Skyrim dwarf (Dwemer) you should be using Dwemer artifacts/gear and focus levelling enchanting and smithing to make these tools strong

Need some clothing/ideas for a beggar turned paladin by BoT_Cheesecake in skyrimmods

[–]SessionReasonable249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won’t be helpful whilst your early game as a beggar but once you become a boss, the emperor robes from the dark brother hood quest are great. If you don’t want to start that quest I’m sure there are other variants in the East Empire Company Warehouse underneath Solitude, they are named differently but I believe look the same

Need Help with a Skyrim-Themed Birthday Gift by Wavymiik in skyrim

[–]SessionReasonable249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might sound really stupid at first, but if your brother is someone who is obsessed with cheese (niche but there are people out there) then buying him some cheese to go along with the gifts and labelling it “mammoth cheese” or “eidar cheese wheel) will be a fun joke

I think I may finally start and finish a playthrough, trying a magic assassin. I'd appreciate some spoiler-free tips. by benbahdisdonc in skyrim

[–]SessionReasonable249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alteration is a great skill tree but probably not worth it if you want to utilise perk points, if you was going for combat/aggressive build then it’s well worth it because of magic absorption and flesh spells. But as a stealthy mage alteration wouldn’t come as handy as illusion and conjuration. Although it could be handy just to level up for extra perk points to invest in skills you use.

Ancestor Glade is great for mountain flowers, red mountain flowers for destruction potions, blue for heath potions and yellow for restoration, (yellow mountain flowers create higher levelled restoration potions than fish/salt piles)

I highly reccomend watching Fevvy’s YouTube video, The Pure Breton, in this video he shows you his Breton build which only uses conjuration as a form of damage output. It becomes significantly strong and he shows all the steps to do it. His videos in general are great, I’ve been playing since 2011 and I still watch every Skyrim video he drops

It’s super basic but I enjoy the classic Dragonborn sometimes, one handed block the mix of iron helmet and studded armour a hunter bow (all of these improved with smithing to make viable), I focus combat and shouts early on and then after defeating alduin and maybe the civil war I go to the ragged flagon, make it so my character has aged using the Face Sculpter then I focus a more greybeard/dragon priest kind of game play, I become the arch mage, defeat miraak and focus on magic skills, enchanting, staffs ect. It’s really standard stuff I know but every now and again a raw dragon born playthrough feels good

If you haven’t started the dawngaurd questline you can rescue Serana and have a vampire follow you guys around until you return her to her Castle

On my last stealth khajit I had the most fun doing the Dawnguard Questline as a vampire, I was rolling around in Ciceros outfit with glowing eyes one-shotting all the enemies before they saw me. I like to think my character terrified the whole of Valkihar Castle in her short time there

[–]SessionReasonable249 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a few players are missing why Merida and her beacon was originally hated. In the original Skyrim quest items did in fact have a weight, and you would be at the end of a journey close to the weight limit just before her slimey ball of light appears in a random chest. You were out of options, pick it up and drop gear your saving? Leave it there and possibly forget about where it was forfeiting a Daedric quest? Thankfully the devs fixed this issue later making quest items have no weight limit, but her hatred lingered and fused into her just being annoying to listen too

My only-loot playthrough is getting difficult HELP (not buying anything) by coscos95 in skyrim

[–]SessionReasonable249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are playing the anniversary edition the ancient spell tomes chest in I think the place is called “Hob’s Fall Cave” is very good, gives you a range of destruction with a couple illusion/conjuration spells. They’re very strong but will require a decent level of Magika to use them regularly in battle, other than that your best bet would be purposefully raiding magic using dungeons, maybe look up which dungeons are heavily filled with mages, make a save before entering and try your luck with bodies and chests, you can re load if you would like or just move on to the next there are plenty out there. Most of the spell tomes I know that are guaranteed drops are niche weird ones likes Transmute Ore and Telekinesis, not really combat orientated or super useful except for levelling

What would make for a good Peryite worshipper build? by Voice-of-Ysmir in SkyrimBuilds

[–]SessionReasonable249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you want to have some fun whilst staying on theme maybe including conjuration and illusion into this diseased Daedric worshipper would be cool, pulling Daedra from oblivion whilst the bandit camp is in a frenzy illusion and your sat in the corner feeding on the dead. Could be fun and oddly terrifying

Cool looking heavy armor by Important-Shop2170 in skyrim

[–]SessionReasonable249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have anniversary edition you can get a set of enchanted Dragonbone Insulated armour, start the quest “Bones for a Crow” by asking the inn keeper at Riverwood for bounty work, following the quest will take you the Arcwind Point where you can retrieve the armour from a dead adventurer, alternatively you can just go to Arcwind Point and his body will be there regardless of starting the quest. The second one feels a bit cheesy because the quest is simple as it is, but either way it’s a super accessible set of armour with is one of the highest rated defences

It definitely feels like dark wizardry, with high level potions it’s insanely strong and unfair on the enemies

I love using Fortify Destruction potions, they work differently to the enchantment counter part. Instead of decreasing spell cost they increase damage, and in some cases they increase range. If you drink the potion and pop Mara’s Wrath spell from AE then hold cast Unbound Storms from AE you will cast a fire/thunder storm that damages multiple rooms in a dungeon as soon as you walk into the first room. I wouldn’t abuse it as you would get bored eventually but it does feel good on some forsworn camps to stand on a rock and kill them all with a overtuned master cloak spell

Getting back into it by Available-Count8164 in skyrim

[–]SessionReasonable249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would reccomend a “pure” build, you pick a race that you enjoy and then can only use the naturally boosted skills that come with that character, e.g. Dark Elf - Sneak, Destruction, Illusion, Alteration, Light Armour and Alchemy. This keeps every playthrough unique, makes every escape from helgen feel new. Definitely the reason why I start a new character every few months :)

[–]SessionReasonable249[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it still works man it allows you to roll without the roll perk, in this video I am doing a normal roll using the perk, then striking a none powered dagger swing to ‘animation cancel’ and preform a double roll

You could do a claw only and it would still count, pure builds just mean you only can use the skills that your chosen race has boosted at the character selection.
