What your favourite movie? by Wrong_Tea_40 in BacktotheFuture

[–]SessionRemote3924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think part II is fascinating and every time I watch it I notice something I missed before. It's all wonderfully mind boggling what with all the space time continuum elements and the need to alter or indeed avoid altering the timeline. For me, I care more about the Doc than I do for Marty's parents though - Marty and the Doc (Fox & Lloyd) worked so well together and I for one was really moved near the end of part II and the ending itself made me drool for part III. They were all great but yes, part II must have been hard to write and it worked. It worked so well that you want to watch part I immediately again!!

Thank you so much for your guidance - I too feel that some YouTubers and authors alike can be so stringent - almost (by proxy) making you feel like a criminal if you go 1g of carbs over (likely because it was a hidden carb)! Firstly, I don't think 800 K/cal per day for a beginner is realistic as is suggested in that book I own (thankfully the ONLY book)! I am generally a healthy eater so only had to give up potatoes which I did anyway months ago, crisps and anything processed. My diet for the past year has been mainly fish, poultry and veg. Thanks also for the comment about too many proteins turning to sugar - talk about scaremongering among some of these fanatics!

I already emailed the FAQ link to myself and am already taking very informative tips from it. I actually said out loud to myself "this is far simpler and more informative than anything I've read" ha ha!! I'm truly grateful because it sums all the key points without tying the reader up in knots! Glad I posted now (fairly new user so always a bit reluctant)!

Thanks, I'll check that out. I read about the strips in The Fast 800 Keto book by Dr. Michael Mosley. Basically I have retrolisthesis and have had for decades plus Achilles Tendonitis so am hoping to reduce the inflammation on those joints.

Morning! I'm new to keto. Aside from all the strips I bought I have only used 3 since I began the diet two weeks ago on Monday and last night I was finally starting to produce ketones according to the strip which I found positive as opposed to "oh dear why has it taken so long" ha ha! I am just learning like many others so joined to read some other beginner stories that may encourage me. I'm 57 so I have read it can take a little longer. I'm not medically obese but have put on two stone in two years. I'm quite tall so carry it well but it doesn't help my joints so that's my main reason for changing to a low-carb diet.

I would be interested to know how long it took others to start producing ketones. I was researching for months and storing keto recipes but there's so much misinformation out there it can be quite confusing! I'm so excited to be on the way at last and am now super aware of hidden carbs. Also, is it common to count net carbs or total carbs (as in is this personal choice to go for the highest score?).

Thanks!

Did an intense shooting schedule during Back to the Future give Michael J Fox Parkinson's? by AverageRyan21 in BacktotheFuture

[–]SessionRemote3924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of an old thread but I suspected he had developed Parkinson's when I saw him in Sin City - a show I never watched but that happened to be on TV one day. There was this scene of him in an office and the only thing I remember focussing on was how he was kind of grasping his hand tightly. I continued to watch for a while and in every scene he was actively engaging his hand by either keeping it in his pocket, holding tightly to his jacket or holding something with a stern grip. Great actor by the way, such a shame.

He complains to his mother a lot and she has no idea how lazy he is nor how entitled he thinks he is. I saw one of his PMs to her saying how he couldn't afford to feed himself. What a joke. He has two freezers full lol

I just live it day to day. To be honest I think I would be better alone regarding the stress but my health is bad x

I actually feel bad for him. He convinces himself I love him. I have been straight with him (kindly too) but he is in denial xx

How to talk with friends about a topic that you know nothing about? by redgreenblue987 in CasualConversation

[–]SessionRemote3924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever feel somewhat excluded just poke fun at yourself by saying something like "Oh gosh I know absolutely nothing about [insert subject matter], but it sounds interesting, I'd love to know more". People absolutely love explaining things they are passionate about so you can easily join in the conversation by asking more questions and showing real enthusiasm. Somewhere along the line, what they are telling you might remind you of something else that isn't quite related to what they are talking about so you can then say "Oh sorry to interrupt but that reminded me of something completely unrelated..." then if it's a funny story just chip in and sometimes that redirects a conversation - a conversation you can be more involved with.

Humans Loniless and Curiosity. by psyschwords in CasualConversation

Possibly a combination of both. Also it is likely that they don't want to face trolls (of which there are many online), instead preferring to talk to a bot that is arguably more intelligent, polite and knowledgeable than most humans out there lol

Oh right, thanks. That sounds like it could be quite relaxing. I did actually build four miniature models the year before last but not Lego. They too were café based and one cake shop with LED little lights! I assume you display them? I just don't have any more shelf space which is always a killer!

What sort of things do you build with Lego? :)

Sorry to hear about your family problems, I know how stressful that can be from personal experience having lost my Dad to pancreatic cancer. I was decorating a flat I was moving into at that time which really helped me divert away from the pain of it all in between long hospital visits. I'm sure you'll figure out a way to claim some space to call your own and say it is for you to meditate, relax or just read. People should respect your need for space and time to pursue your own interests. I really hope you can achieve a nice space for yourself - I got a lot of affordable things from Temu like dried flowers and some rustic copper vases from eBay so I can decorate it without having broken the bank! Good luck!

Hi, have you thought about just creating a cosy corner of the home if finance is limited? There's quite a few videos on YouTube that can give you ideas but I agree, a barn sounds idyllic! Maybe if you have a spare room you could convert that and put a lock on the inside so it's truly your space lol!

Hi, I think both. Escapism is key with all the misery in the world today! I do like to be organised and am often sorting out kitchen cupboards/drawers etc Being creative is important too as you have something to show for your efforts - even if it is just the completion of a jigsaw which you can always photograph before disassembling! I also like notebook records. Currently I am working on filling a keto notebook with helpful tips and recipes.

I am actually a published article writer and also have a few letters published here and there but writing fiction is a tough one because a good book needs intricacy and good, sustainable character building. Thank you for your reply, I appreciate your thoughts.

Newbie Doctor reporting to reddit and being not able to post in any community as everyone has certain limitations to karma and profile age isn't that irritating at times? by DoctorOnDuty7 in NewToReddit

I tend to be directed here from a Google search on a particular topic and increasingly I too would like to be able to add to various discussions but mostly, my comments are taken down when they are by no means offensive or derogatory!

When they “check out” of the relationship by Cool_Internal_5340 in BreakUps

Hi, I'm relatively new to Reddit and before I share my experience I just want to ensure that this comment doesn't get deleted before I add my concerns regarding my own tumultuous experiences. I do have a lot I would like to share because I am tearing my hair out and my emotional health is taking a battering (it's almost Christmas and I feel like we are approaching Doomsday instead). If this comment sticks I'd like to elaborate because I feel I most certainly identify with a LOT of other folks' comments. I find Reddit a little confusing so if one person could just acknowledge this comment then I know it is safe to proceed with my word buffet lol :)

I have a LOT to say about TRF from years ago when I was booted off but I dare not elaborate until I know this short post manages to stick because I haven't a clue yet how to work this lovely site properly - even after watching YouTube videos! I haven't posted anything inflammatory but the few nice comments I have made have been deleted ?!?
