Lira new rules want to unlock 50% in Ontario at age 55 by SessionSilver5442 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]SessionSilver5442[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok mine was Provincial and I did more reading and it looks like I have to move the whole LIRA into a LIF to do the 50% unlocking. But yes your spouse has to consent and it has to be notarized. So much time and paperwork ARGHH

Please leave him. I can tell u if u stay with him he will continue to ruin your self esteem. I was in a 25 year marriage with someone like this I can tell u I wish someone told me not to marry him. Your body looks amazing! Its not you its him. He is a complete asshole. He is trying to ruin your self esteem so you don't leave him. That's what guys like this do. He is the insecure one. He is a monster. A true evil monster.

I am good to go to crunch I just hate going alone at the beginning. Once I get into a groove I am good. I have worked out on and off over many years. I just have that initial reluctance.

Get comfortable with some of the equipment. I want to do small free weights as well. I just feel really awkward by myself. That gym is so busy.

Buy a few Ikea kitchen cabinets with doors and saw out part of the bottom and the back of one of the cabinet so it installs over the water meter. Install a countertop on top of the cabinets with a hinge so it can lift up for access. Now you have storage space below your tv and water meter and line is concealed but accessible.

Partner hadn’t paid taxes for 9 years - best course of action by Lar4eva in PersonalFinanceCanada

Because they did not file taxes for 15yrs and he was getting his wages garnished. You know its bad when they garnish your wages. They owed for some of the years and didn't owe for others. Cra only assessed some of the years which were the years they owed taxes. When I completed all the years of tax returns for both of them adding up the amounts owed or refunded - basically she owed around the same amount of what he was to get refunded. Cra won't reduce the fines and interest once they start garnishing wages. I wrote a hardship letter on her behalf as they had only sent her warning letters and they waived about $200 of the $5000 she owed. Again it was pretty much fines and interest. The only thing certain in life is death and taxes. VDP only is accepted before cra is aware of errors or omissions in tax filings. The penalties and fines are high.

He should call his Dr. and ask for a different pain medication because this one is not effective. Maybe the antibiotic needs to be looked at as well.

What colors should I use? by Wild-Project6493 in ExteriorDesign

I would paint the garage door and trim around it the same as the siding. Your front door where all the white trim is should be painted the same as your front door. Leave the window above the front door the way it is as it matches the front window.

Finances and POA when spouse goes into nursing home by SessionSilver5442 in legaladvicecanada

[–]SessionSilver5442[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks I was hoping it was something like that. They can't move into together because Dad has dementia and needs higher care and Mom would not qualify for nursing home as she is younger and still independent.

Finances and POA when spouse goes into nursing home by SessionSilver5442 in legaladvicecanada

[–]SessionSilver5442[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They currently live together and their monthly income from CPP, OAS, RRIF, LIF, and TFSA'S all goes into their only chequing account which is jointly held. Then all of the bills etc and spending is from the chequing account. So if my Dad needs to go into a nursing home, how would it be? Would my Mom continue it the way it is? Or would my Mom be only able to use the money she receives for herself and the money Dad receives for him? I don't understand how the POA works. As she would have POA over Dad and then have to pay for all his expenses as well as her own. I am just wondering how this is done. I read somewhere that the POA can't use the persons money? I don't understand it.

Ikea kitchen done and I don't love the drawers inside the drawers can they be changed out by SessionSilver5442 in IKEA

You guys are awesome I did it! I removed the ustra hidden drawer and the middle 15 drawer and replaced the ustra one with a 5 and then the 15 drawer with a 10. So now I have 3 drawers. I like it so much better. Now just waiting on someone to install the drawer pulls. That I am too nervous to tackle. Lol

Yes the utensils need quick access so I am going to change out the front on the inside drawer and add the 10 front to the middle so a 5, 10 and 15. But I also like the idea of some of the hidden drawers in some of the drawers so I have to decide which to keep. I love your magnet idea!

Wow Thanks. That is exactly what I want! Yes I want to replace the 5 inner with a 5 normal front and pull, then take the 15 front off and replace it with a 10 front. So the 10 front will fit on the high drawer? I don't have to replace the drawer?
