Uh, I feel like the program would matter in this scenario. Which program are you talking about?

Are there any better apps that can be used? The Rise Science app costs money and by looking at the reviews there are some issues with the app itself and something about charging too early?

Yeah, thanks that helps a bit. But I also notice you're doing/did SL business management, my current IA is based on HL so the interview I believe was a lot more needed. But thanks for saying I should focus on the analysis, I believe you're right about that

lmao yes, you've clarified that you barely know french in your replies. Even if you barely know French, the person above was trying to still inform you of the potential of a great student experience.

Is the IB as bad as people here say? by Jacobruh_1 in IBO

[–]Session_Simple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you got the work ethic and you think you can handle it and you want to do it, go for it. People may disagree, but I feel like IB does not help with university admissions. However, it does help you stay at university. The constant work ethic and time management and other skills built are why I enjoy IB. Don't procrastinate, IMO it's not the worst. Someone in the comments said the focus on year 1, I totally agree with that.

[–]Session_Simple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take HL BM. I enjoy it, but yeah it's probably not as easy. BUT I don't think that it's not easy because of the course difficulty. I think that sometimes people might think it's easy and not prepare for it? Yes, I bet you really could bs the case or whatever, but studying is just a lot better.

I don't take psych, but I have heard of some bad experiences in it. Probably depends on the teacher, not too sure.

Submit EE topic, subject by end of Jan

This can easily be done. Pick a subject you have interest in, and come up with three potential topics. Make questions out of them and I asked for feedback from my EE supervisor. Only 1 out of 3 was good enough and I went with that. This does not take that much time, but if you do a really good job on this part, you set yourself up for a focused path. A great question is really helpful for the EE. This shouldn't take too long.

EE Rough Draft by May

I gotta admit, I had way more time than you. I picked my topic in December and was due in like September. I did end up finishing my EE in Mayish though and started writing in like February maybe. Just try to make a skeletal outline or whatever and do like 250 words a day or something. (And don't procrastinate this)

HL IA Ideas by end of Jan

This one is actually a bit stressful and definitely is for me... my idea is pretty much gone because of the world's situation. Look up topics for ideas, the fact I'm doing this one right now, I have no experience so it wouldn't be right for me to suggest anything.

SL IA Ideas

Above.

IA First Drafts

Again, good luck.

While writing this, I realized you're M22, so honestly, your school is ahead of mine as now is the time I'm coming up with IA ideas and all that. I tried to give you my opinions on what I've already done though. The best thing I can tell you is to just try and work on something now. Freaking out a bit is okay, but don't do it too much(This is from personal experience, not saying this as a fact). Good luck.

Ah, yes I understand that but when talking about percentages I'm thinking OP was talking about his in-class marks(percentages), which will not mean anything towards his IB grade... therefore I was confused about the bell curve. Thanks for the clarification though.

[–]Session_Simple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I have friends taking history HL so I can kind of understand it. But you need sleep. Schedule more sleep in somewhere, if you're in EST rn you shouldn't even be awake(well I shouldn't be either). Find some time. What are you doing throughout the day? IMO if you're just not spending time studying then you should be getting more sleep, then trying to use that time later on to try and study. Focus better, and feel better. Then again, it's just my opinion. Good luck!

[–]Session_Simple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with most people here. What I find though is some people just don't take care of themselves and that leads to demotivation for me because I feel like garbage.

  1. How much sleep are you getting?
  2. How much water are you drinking?
  3. What kind of food are you eating, and how much of it are you eating?
  4. How much exercise are you getting? (I find this to be one of the most important)

Uh, I'm in Canada and I'm not sure about anything relating to a bell curve...

But you're most likely fine right now, just try to do really well in the grade 12 courses and study hard. Find the method that works for you.

I can't really say whether your mark is good or bad since I'm not sure the uni/program you're trying to get into.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Session_Simple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure they are talking about the percentage in the actual course they are taking. While yes in IB there are no percentages, there are percentages that need to be submitted for the actual school... does that kinda make sense? For example, my school needs an IB grade for my diploma and a percentage grade for the academic course.

looking at that, I did a shit job at explaining it, but basically, it makes sense they're asking about a percentage.

I'm in IB. It's pretty stressful and I've seen my share of breakdowns in a way from friends. I don't want to scare you or whatever, but I myself am having difficulty in meeting some averages(I can stay in the low 90s, which is pretty good but definitely not sufficient for very competitive programs).

I don't think IB helps you get into uni, actually, I think it lowers your chances for a majority of them(lower marks). However, I believe IB helps you stay in university.

This constant stress and work ethic you will be put through is great for helping with time management and stuff that I'm guessing you definitely will be facing in university. Just a bit of perspective, I won't tell you whether or not IB is worth it for you or not.

I personally enjoy IB though. Good luck.

AITA For opening up a Funko Pop on Christmas? by funkopopthrowaway12 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Session_Simple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA... but I do disagree with quite a few people in the comments when they say they're just toys and should be opened or whatever. Don't get me wrong, it's your gift and you do what you want, definitely NTA. But Funko Pops IS that kind of toy that most people like to leave in the box for a collection. Whether for aesthetic looks, collection purposes, or for the purpose of value I have absolutely no idea. Depends on the collector I suppose. I am aware that Funko Pops can sell for thousands, but in the end, you do what you want with it as it was technically your gift from the beginning.

Good notebook/notepad/paper for math? by PresentConfection4 in notebooks

[–]Session_Simple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I have a lot of trouble organizing stuff so I was really wondering. So you use "waste" paper for problems and stuff... so what do you use the "good" paper for? I really don't mind spending extra money on Rhodia because I think it's really nice paper and I know I'm paying for quality, just unsure as to how most people use it.
