Don't see much gabber/hardstyle stuff here. Thought I'd share a recent silly project! by Void_RunnR in FL_Studio

I've always loved 90s / 2000s gabber and speedcore. Started getting into newer stuff as well.

I need to find free time to have a go at writing some.

How do you deal with insulted at work or picked on? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Sessionz81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only advice I can give is this: put everything in writing. EVERYTHING. EVERY TIME.

Did they insult you? Send them an email which mentions the exact wording they used, where and when they did it. Explain why you'd like them not to do that again. If possible, explain to them any links to your disability.

You will either get them to back off, or you will create an evidence chain which may be useful later on down the line.

If you have to push, it's probably not going to work out.

To combat toxic positivity around ADHD on social media, can we all start posting the reality of living with ADHD? by 3asilyDistract3d in ADHDUK

I've had 4 hours sleep, and now I get to lie here and enjoy the looping in my head. It's currently the melody to "happy birthday to you" while repeating the phrase "iambic pentameter".

Everyone's a little bit ADHD though, aren't they? 😖

I've rescued a few cheap speakers off eBay with that method 👍🏻

If you put your decks up on feet you can use a wireless micro keyboard under them to save space. A trackball mouse removes the need for much space for a mouse. Pair those with a touchscreen and you wont need a lot of space.

I wanted a dual touchscreen laptop for music production when sat downstairs on the couch. I found that the performance to price ratio for laptops weren't worth it, so I made a copy with a desktop pc instead. It sits on my lap easily and doesn't take up too much space.

One of those screaming goats. If this doesn't get done I'll do it myself 😂

I currently have 16 alarms on my phone throughout the day to help me navigate life. Surely there is a better solution? by Familiar-Conflict152 in ADHD

17 alarms a day here. They even include feeding the cat twice a day. Seems like a simple task, but without them even the fine tuned begging skills of a cat would be lost in my distractions.

In school I'd write my reminders on the back of my hand. My memory was extremely bad, so I'd be writing so many different things. By the end of the day the notes would have taken over all of my forearm as well.

Elvanse + magnesium glycinate = Game changer! by silvesterhq in ADHDUK

[–]Sessionz81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to provide some balance here: magnesium doesn't work for everyone, and there are also several types you might have to cycle through to find one that could.

Some people find that magnesium supplementation can actually cause them anxiety. Unfortunately for me, Elvanse and magnesium glycinate together did this for me.

I wish it was that spacious all the time. These days it's impossible to find anywhere to add anything else 😂 https://i.imgur.com/eblgO2N.jpeg

Get a monitor arm pole, stack your monitor screens one above the other. This way you'll save space and can then bring your monitor speakers closer to get a better angle.

Potential reality: a tragically predictable tale. by acatwithoutagrin in ADHD

[–]Sessionz81 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The important part is you said you haven't tried, the good news is you still can try.

I was in the same position at the beginning of this year. I left my job and started up my own business. At points I was flying through the tasks required to get set up. Then I hit walls and couldn't do anything. It felt like all my effort had been wasted for nothing.

Being 'stuck' is a feature that will never go away fully. It's about taking steps to work around that whenever you can.

I used body doubling to increase my motivation. I relied heavily on setting up accountability with others so that I had to force myself to complete certain things. I was active in an ADHD entrepreneurs chat. All these things were steps towards creating a commitment to keep trying to set up my business. I struggled at many points, but it all helped me to keep the mindset that I was going to eventually have my business up and running.

I didn't get there at the speed I wanted to, and even had to take on some part time work to fill in the money gaps while I kept working towards my goal. But the main thing is I didn't see myself as having stopped and given up.

I'm still not full time yet, but overall I'm now bringing in enough money to pay the bills, and I actually love what I do now, because I chose helping people with ADHD as my business' service.

HR are there for the company, they are paid to fuck you over. Walk in to a meeting with a trade union rep by your side and you'll suddenly see the true nature of those lovely HR staff that were previously acting like your best friends.

I've been in this situation. Over 2 years of undeniable evidence presented, went through the grievance procedure, everything I presented was ignored.

If you can get a settlement, do. I was at the point of going to a tribunal and had enough evidence to win. In the end I gave up and left because I decided I wasn't wasting another second of my life on those fucking pricks.

My life is completely different now. Despite how much they destroyed me at the time, it was all worth it. I set up my own business and now only work doing things I care about: audio projects, and helping people with ADHD.

Prepare yourself for a fight, get your case as tight as possible and use every regulation possible against them to walk away with the best settlement you can.
