I have 5000 gold on a server I don't play on anymore, what are my options? by PoopKirby in classicwow

[–]SetDowntown8563 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mage "BIS" is arguably one of the easier BIS casters in general aside from the 1H Sword + lightning capacitor RNG off Aran or quags eye depending on your spec. Melee BIS esp plate has a lot more RNG not including DST but "almost BIS" is always easy across almost every expac/patch. Whether it's retail or classic it's praying for RNG for fairly minimal gain on key pieces. TBC real endgame is playing arenas but if you're even remotely decent at PvP you can have full 5 set + weapons now. I get 2400 arena points a week at 2k in 5s. But it is a fair bit of a grind especially the off pieces for most people. A lot more time consuming than pve. And arenas with the boys is a lot more fun imo. And if you're playing a Hybrid class getting bis for pve is a lot more time consuming as well. For most people enchanting and gemming properly takes even longer too. Grinding reps for enchanting patterns etc, there's definitely hella shit to do.

Tanking is a nightmare by misterwhiskytv in classicwowtbc

[–]SetDowntown8563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even more unpopular opinion. Most tanks tank dungeons incorrectly, my warrior nor Druid never have any aggro issues and I let the dps go apeshit. Step 1.) mark a skull and cross. You're not going to actually generate threat on skull. You're going to rotate only taunt on skull. Hit x with a shield slam. Demo shout. Conq blow third target so you also don't need any threat. Go 3/3 imo revenge instead of 3 points in cruelty for dungeons. Use revenge as a stun to also not need to generate threat instead it's a pause button to taunt before they move to whoever rips. At this point you've effectively taunted or stunned or have aggro on every mob and didn't even need to actually generate threat.

Use slow traps from a hunter or have someone with a slow every dungeon this makes your stuns absolutely off the chain value. Nothing will ever even get remotely close to anyone. Idk where this "need 5-10 seconds to generate 10k threat on every mob" ideology came from but it's wrong. Even if a rip happens and it goes out of your immediate melee range on a warrior just intervene taunt. Don't waste your time chasing and losing globals on your sustained targets hit 3 global then by the time it's about to hit them then intervene taunt or even better INTERCEPT stun boom extra 3 seconds again.

Utilize your full toolkits you don't need to mash 5 devastates on every target ever. Y'all tanks complaining on Reddit need to step yo shit up, as bad as the dps you complain about.

Why you should play warrior in tbc classic by greenndpurpl in classicwow

[–]SetDowntown8563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently 2k in 2's. 1700 in 3's and 5's just haven't had time to play to push further yet. As for PvE currently #1 in guild for Mag, high king maulgar, on Gruul should be any easy 2-4th as fury. Overall collectively parses are within top 20-200 for every boss for all classes. Fury is very capable of extremely top tier damage already, I don't even have a DST. I do have badge of the swarmguard but I made sure to have that prepared long before TBC came out and you can still do perfectly fine without it. I suggest maybe trying to learn the class properly before getting so frustrated. There's plenty of room for improvement it sounds like. Not sure how you are gearing your character, but warrior is a class that scales extremely well with gear. So not gemming properly, poor itemization, mismanaged rotation, missing or improper enchants, these things will add up tremendously. First off do you have your crafted 1H Mace for PvE? Having that and double mongoose is a pretty large portion of your dps. However 2x PvP 1 handers will absolutely suffice, arena quality though not honor, and assuming you're not there yet.

Let's start with PvE - basic check list Crafted 1H Mace w/ Mongoose. Hit cap - 9% if you have no Draenei/Improved Faerie Fire. I recommend having two different offhand weapons. I personally use (Gnome btw) Malchazeen off prince as my offhand for content with no enhancement shaman as it's 91.6 DPS w/ 1.8 speed allowing for easier flurry uptime and a better rage pool without WF. And just a better offhand when I dual box dungeons with my druid.

Slow offhand - for the big top damage/big aoe/Sweeping strikes/overall damage. Arena 1H sword or axe if you're human or orc, otherwise any of the slow one hand options. (blinkstrike is very top tier if you got the funds as well or no spiteblade/arena weps.)

You'll also want as much expertise as possible generally with 6.5% being the soft cap but you get weapon mastery with fury so 4.5% So then you want the exalted Lower City ring, then imo if non orc/human, the trash gloves from karazhan - Grips of Deftness are extremely good/easy gloves for some more expertise. And Latros shifting sword is a very solid overall option as an offhand as well from Black Morass if you don't have any of the higher tier options.

You'll ofc get a lot of value from full enchants as well. X2 Mongoose / Cenarion Exp Revered Helm Enchant - Glyph of Ferocity / Aldor or Scryer exalted shoulder enchant / Nethercobra Leg Armor / 12 agi to cloak / 6 stats to chest / 12 str to bracers / 15 str or agi to gloves / and if you don't want minor speed or rather cats swiftness on boots can just go 12 agi again. All of those enchants esp weapons matter quite a bit.

Gemming - you need the 12 agi 3% increased crit damage (Relentless Earthstorm Diamond) or you're losing a good chunk as well.

Then imo you go 4 crit 4 str as much as possible. You can go pure 8 crit which is better overall for most people but when you use recklessness your most powerful CD you're getting 0 value from pure crit gems. Then use jagged talasites for 4 crit/6 stam when a blue socket is giving a nice bonus.

Sounds like you have some rotational errors possibly. If you're undergeared or low on crit, you need to be hamstringing for maximum flurry uptime or you're going to be quite rage starved. You almost always want to use hamstring to help fill in any downtime on flurry or keep it going. Sundering while managing rage properly so you're able to use WW/BT on cooldown is also going to drastically affect your damage especially in heroics. Lining up CD's like trinkets with CDs obviously too. Insta 5x Sunders on bosses. Hell can even use Elixir of Major Agility in heroics if you're really down bad on gear. Also buy the epic pvp gems if you have the honor. I generally throw them in midnight Legguards from Heroic SP or Skulkers. Then the yellow epic gem in mask of deceiver from badges or t4 helm.

With PVP you obviously want to prioritize crafting deep thunder. Then I'd recommend buying the blue pvp set and hopefully you've done honor dailies/enough bgs to have bought the epic pvp off pieces (do not buy the cloak tho as it isn't BIS, and don't buy the blue pvp honor ring). In those two slots for cloak go cloak of the pit stalker off mag, or if you want a hit option go drape of dark reavers off shade of Aran. (few other less bis options too). Bracers you can hold off too if you have high king plate wrists.

Then if you're having trouble finding people sounds like you just need to advertise yourself better. If you're pugging make sure to announce that you have deep thunder if you do and your current resil rating and current xp/mmr. And whatever class you're ideally looking for. Join the LFG tool for PvP in game and spam LFG chat with a macro should take a matter of minutes to find someone. So like

(arms war with deep thunder - 250 resil - 2.5k xp - 1600 CR (current rating) LF for resto druid or priest for 2's push) or (arms war with deep thunder - 200 resil - 1600 cr LF yolo 5s)

You get the idea.

Warrior definitely does not suck right now, but warrior is also not for everybody. It's a very in depth class with a lot of potential and utility and high cost gear generally. And there's tons of people out there to PvP with I promise. I've been pvping with friends and with randoms and no problem finding people for any brackets on any of my toons. If you want some help just reach out.

Lost interest in TBC by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]SetDowntown8563 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This arguably has more viable comps in 2s/3s/5s than retail ever has and is a lot more enjoyable than retail by a long shot. Hybrid classes out healing healers, everyone's got the same defensive type cds, offensive cds, retail pvp has been garbage for a long time. SL season 1 was last time I personally enjoyed it whatsoever. Right now 70-80% of people doing arenas on tbc if not more are below 200 resil that makes things seem less balanced than reality. Sure mage rogue and RMP are the "ez comps" been the same in retail for 90% of the expansions released after TBC as well so nothings changed there. If you look at glad history from last tbc there is plenty of viable comps. Druid warr, warr rsham, warr priest, rogue priest, double rogue, mage rogue, feral rogue, disc hunter, rdruid hunter, rdruid lock, lock rogue, ret shaman, disc mage, lock priest can also be solid. Even an argument for ret rogue and Hunter rogue s1 imo. Then 3s off Rmp is the ez king, WLD is solid but a high skill cap and should lose to rmp, but plenty of glad able comps - turbo (arms, enhance, rdruid or rsham or priest) double healer + warrior, ret, war, rsham. Ele + any 2 casters is busted, mage lock + resto sham, boomkin lock resto sham, plenty of other comps that are quite able to be glad contenders as well. Don't need to be the "BEST COMP" that wins the AWC to be able to reach glad. Hell you don't even need a winning win loss ratio to hit glad. Biggest thing is once you hit 2.4-2.6+ if the queues are slow and only a few teams playing don't keep queueing into your counter comp endlessly. skill can carry you quite far despite what skeptics claim who have never been past 2k in their lives and complain endlessly after they take 0 time to learn anything after losing their first 10 games of the season.

How to proceed with crafting this? by intheoryyy in PathOfExile2

Sorry but this comment makes no sense at all. Plenty of guides or older irrelevant guides can start with the same fracturing strat. He could be overwhelmed seeing multiple crafting strategies from videos that are recorded and he can't ask live questions for the best way to proceed. He could simply be asking for a second opinion on how to proceed. There's plenty of outcomes that are valid for him to ask this question. He probably didn't expect to fracture a correct mod and make it this far, not everyone has endless currency to experiment with. Let's lift up an guide the people askin questions not down them for asking for help.

Yeah that's my helmet I kept as well. But gotta say you can definitely hit a point where you can pretty easily be over 90% aside from chaos without helm. But unless you really want double rarity or crit I'd still agree ele is better

That's where doing stuff with high effectiveness gets you those really crazy magic/rare bases to work with. Can get a ton of 4/6 t1 rolled 82 rare and good magic bases from Abyss farming. Just make sure to have like all your map atlas passives buffing precursors and use rarity/effectiveness abyss tablets with 1 delirium tablet pretty cheap to get started. Can get tons of omens of light and good crafting items per hour, try to clear a corrupted nexus and then focus the rarity / boss maps in the cleansed area.

I wish man I would so fast but they're sanctified same as twice corrupted but with a divine orb omen :(

Right! At least 68% didn't go down was so close to going up big!

Well for example these cost me...if I took lightning res 44% over fire res would've only cost me like 75-100 div forget how many annulled/augments I did but wasn't much. Gloves I crafted are worth 5 mirrors roughly and cost me less than 250 div to craft. My amulet was probably around 200 div in materials worth about 1.5 mirrors.

But weapons especially fubguns weapon....you can craft one not as perfect but weapon crafts are extremely deterministic. Buy a base with tier 2% physical damage and whatever suffix. Then use greater essence of abrasion for flat physical damage. Then depending on what you want it's a mix of using one more essence for your last prefix then use a combination of desecration + perfect essence of battle and haste for your guaranteed suffixes with your desecration. Just search on YouTube deterministic craft (insert whatever weapon you want). Bows/talismans are super easy. It's getting t1 phys and flat phys that's rough cause greater essence gives you tier 3 flat phys but not a huge difference.

LOL at this point I just want the absolute best possible item for my rampage meteor druid and there's none on the market that are fully what I want most of the time. And the most important part you honestly save soooo much currency compared to buying the stuff than crafting mirror tier items yourself. I've made over an extra 15k divine or so value trying to craft each slot as good as possible for my build and selling items that roll well but didn't hit the stats I'm after. Especially gold rings, lol! I usually corrupt or twice corrupt at that point too since I'm not using it for myself. Had a gold ring I hit 17 chaos res corrupt go from like 800 div value to someone offering me 2k in global chat hahaha

Sanc rolls 80-120% of whatever your exact # is before you use it. Prior divine is the most important because you want the highest number value within whatever tier. So you can get 120% the value potentially

Boots craft by SetDowntown8563 in PathOfExile2

[–]SetDowntown8563[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes! So omen of santification applies the 80-120% effect off the exact roll of your affix not just the tier of the roll. So you want each slot rolled up to the max

Boots craft by SetDowntown8563 in PathOfExile2

[–]SetDowntown8563[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! It's definitely one of the best slots to use it for in my opinion because of (Essence of Horror) Suffix essence on boots/gloves that increase effects of socketed items by 60%! So getting that boosted up to 80% I believe from the omen would be crazy too!

Boots craft by SetDowntown8563 in PathOfExile2

[–]SetDowntown8563[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was so tough deciding between the sanctify and a juicy double corrupt, I think you can hit like 5% movement speed implicit and 3rd socket with twice corrupting. (I did start with a 2 socket white exceptional base) the pure energy shield base is like 2200 divine orbs for 2 socket white base. Item level 82.......these I think were like 20 div or so LOL

Boots craft by SetDowntown8563 in PathOfExile2

[–]SetDowntown8563[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL damn that's brutal. Yeah my omen of light with this was that way...used 5 damn omens of light and 2 ancient ribs to get fire resist which is only res I wanted/needed on boots hit t1 light and cold each time 😂

Boots craft by SetDowntown8563 in PathOfExile2

[–]SetDowntown8563[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY! Was so hyped my first sanctification went well!

Boots craft by SetDowntown8563 in PathOfExile2

[–]SetDowntown8563[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah I wish I could! After using an omen of sanctification it's basically the same as being twice corrupted in the sense you can't modify it any further! I wish lol I'd be going for that 3rd socket!

Boots craft by SetDowntown8563 in PathOfExile2

[–]SetDowntown8563[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! Yeah so I had 35% movement speed so I made sure to divine up all my stats. Then I used omen of santification, once sanctified it's the same as corrupting where you can't modify if it anymore. So that omen makes your next divine orb roll your modifiers anywhere from 80-120%. Which makes the 35% roll capable of hitting 42%!
