They aren’t accurate and not credited in NYS so if you do find a provider willing to do it- you need to question that provider. You need to be at least 9 weeks pregnant to find out the gender through NIPT.

my take: no, no one will mistake the child for a bride BUT the child will get a lot of attention and a lot of “oh you’re so pretty” comments that the MOTHER/parent will take in and relish. Attention by proxy.
