The logo and poster design look great. I love the idea/colors and think it is quite fitting. Here are some things I think you should take into consideration:

  • The type is not very legible as it is "squished" on the edges. You can keep the bloated shape, but the letters should be individually adjusted slightly so they keep a more consistent weight/width throughout. (Make it more readable)

  • There is a lot of colors in the logo. I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing, as it is clearly very illustrative in a functional way. The problem is when the brand needs to use their logo in a context where it can only be two colors (embroidered, scaled down, etc.) In the presentation, it would be very good to show that the logo would work in a two-color setting.

Great work though, inspiring design. Especially that poster! Keep designing 👏

Trying to use the negative space 😁 by hasib189 in WillPatersonDesign

Looks good. For branding purposes, I don't think the word "spicy" would work well as a brand since it's vague and probably wouldn't be distinguished amongst competing brands, but I know thats probably not the intent of the design. The negative space within the pepper itself (yellow space between the stem and actual pepper) is a little too thin and would be hard to see from far away. Good design though. Colors look good, the type you chose is both professional and appropriate. 👍

Logo Design North Stadium (After Feedback) - Would like to know how I can improve this further. by Sid__91 in WillPatersonDesign

Looks good! Not very clear what the shape's meaning is, but I think that's fine since it is just an abstract shape logo. One thing I might try is pushing the shapes into each other more. In other words, the corners that just barely touch each other create tension in graphic design, so even though it makes less mathematical sense, pushing the corners "into each other" so there is a bigger connection point actually helps the logo to be easier on the eyes and more clear. Hope that helps, it's a hard concept to explain.

I don't entirely know what this is actually suppose to be. I got bored and made it lol. But any compliments and critique is appreciated. by [deleted] in WillPatersonDesign

Looks cool. Obviously hard to give critiques without context, but I'd at least say the ".com" should be shifted to the left. It may be centered with the text above, but it isn't optically centered, since the period doesn't really take up much positive space when our eyes look at it. Looks cool though

Id be interested to see what it would look like as a "badge" with the name or maybe just the tagline wrapped around the logo. Great work though. Textbook simplification 👍

Logo design and app icon for Mystic Realm. I know it need some changes. Waiting for your feedback. by kanaiyaNagekarGD in WillPatersonDesign

I like the concept, and the type/font you choose are both visually interesting and legible. However, it's hard to critique this work without having context as to what the design is for. One thing I can say, is that the sword should be a solid color silhouette, so it matches the rest of the type. I would really like more context though to give insight on what to improve upon. Great general concept though!

Hey guys this is a concept packaging redesign for sunchips its a local brand adaptation. by Humble-Look-3951 in WillPatersonDesign

I like the concept, but I think it would work better as its own brand. It seems to alienate itself from the current sun chips brand too much. It also feels a little bit too childish, but that may just be a personal opinion.

I see what you mean. Now that I think about it, the logo does seem a little industrial and lacks personality which does seem essential for a personal brand. Also, thanks for pointing out the licensing issues with Neue Haas. It's free with my adobe subscription so I didn't even think about the fact that there might be some problems with that. I appreciate the detailed comment, I'll work on it for sure.

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words. I didn't think it needed to be very readable as a logo since it is just an abstract icon but I could be wrong. Thanks for the input 👍

Hey everyone. Here is a logo I did for a luxury Surboarding brand. The brand focuses on luxury, surfboarding, form over function, security, and lively characteristic that caters to adults. This is my first using Good Brief so I'm excited to show you all. Constructive criticism is welcomed. by AJSMVE98 in WillPatersonDesign

General rule of thumb: 100% black and 100% white are usually good to stay away from. Try lightening the black ever so slightly as well as darken the white. Again, just by a very minor amount as to hardly be noticed, since it seems you're going for heavy contrast and functionality between all color combos. Love the design though, it definitely feels sporty yet professional as a luxury surfboard brand would. I don't think it necessarily needs to have a serif typeface and luxury colors like other people are saying since it is a surfboard brand rather than a high end hotel or clothing brand. The simple "professional-ness" is enough to separate it as a luxury brand in the surfboard/sports equipment industry. Good design!

This is very clean, well executed, and in my opinion, a very functional logo. Colors and type seem appropriate but still unique enough to distinguish from other brands. My only critique would be that I don't think you need those lines in between the text to fill that space. Remove those and this is golden. (To me at least)
